My ICS will come on sometimes after fueling I’ve taken it to Toyota and they can’t seem to figure this out. This is a pain of 😅continuing spending money to get this figured out. Confused..will try to turn this off.😊

Hey Steven, thank you very much for the reply. But, does this also work if there’s a hitch with a couple of bikes on the back hitch?

Can you set up a bunch of boxes and pretend to drive into them to test the pre collision mitigation system??? Would be cool to see

I have two triangles w/exp point in middle. One says sonar system malfunction and the other is integrates system warning - are these what you are referring to?

If you can show the buttons AND the screen, that would be very helpful.

Turned off both ICS and pre-collision and my 2022 Highlander still slams on the brakes when I am backing up with a loaded hitch haul (storage rack) or bike rack. Icons showing ICS is off and still slams the brakes - super annoying.

But I do appreciate your videos. Way more helpful than my Toyota manual, my dealer, my salesman, or the app.

Turn off RCTA in the settings menu. Try that

Same here. Don’t like it. I actually put a 24 inch metal cage on my hitch and transported a snowblower to get repaired. What a fiasco trying to back up, it kept stopping me every single time in reverse.
@rickmoreno4177 Жыл бұрын
I had a wheel chair on a hitch and i turned every thing off kn that screen and it still slammed on the breaks while backing up. Toyota fix that shit. Hope it had a all k way of canceling that shit cuz then it's useless as a truck if ur towing a rv. Or a horse trailer if it senses things back there and slams on the breaks when backing up.

If the vehicle is in neutral and being pulled by a track though the carwash, will this system still activate and try to stop the vehicle. Most car washes I use , have you put car in neutral and the vehicle is pulled along or push by the track as it goes though.
@stevenwelchtoyota3 жыл бұрын
will have to try it.

We have the 2021 Highlander Platinum and that's the type of carwash I use. I don't turn anything off before entering (except the rain sensing wipers ;)). The system alarms like at 1:51 of this video, but because the car isn't moving (in gear?) you don't get the emergency "BRAKE" indicator. If you just temporarily mute the alarms, you can continue through. It does not apply the brakes.
