I saw on a KZbinr channel that shows cars that come in for junk or scrap! And a gorgeous 1 owner 77 year old women drove her 2007 Lexus SUV had 265k miles she drove to Arizona from Chicago every other week to see her kids-grandkids She junked it cuz the steering would be extremely loose faster you drove! U could turn wheel halfway either way and it will still go straight! She said dealer gave her a $4,400 repair estimate and she wasn’t able to pay that. So junked it. Well junk yard looked at it and put sway bar links and stable bar and lower/upper control bushing and fixed it for less then $400 and sold it online.

Midsize??
@craigfin3222
@craigfin3222 3 ай бұрын
@@paulahunt3508 Yes, midsize crossover for the time. Now that being said, vehicles have gotten bigger and the old Highlanders share a footprint more similar to the current RAV4. So if you gauged it by today's standards. It would be more like a Compact Crossover, like the RAV4 or CRV. However, today's Highlanders would still fall under midsize, though on the lower end. With the Grand Highlander/New Pilot being more close to the American standard of "mid-size". You don't get full size until you get to the Sequoia and to be fair, even that is on the lower end of "full-size". Most Japanese manufacturers make smaller vehicles compared to American ones. When it comes to the American brands, you got plenty of full size SUVs. Like the Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon and others.

Don't take the bikes away because of a few bad apples. I have an e-bike and love riding an abandoned rail line that was turned into a trail for bikes along a beautiful lake. The other day I stopped to take a water break and an older gentleman did the same on his e-trike. He told me that he thought he would never get back on a bike because he has lost some balance but is now riding with his family, going to a lakeside taco stand etc. He's back out and riding 250-300Km a week. Let him enjoy it may be me sometime in the distance future.

Scotty I know you hate Nissan's but, every suv. I'm looking at Honda CRV they have ether a 1.5L 4 cylinder and a turbo charger, or 2.0 L with a hybrid both with a CVT transmission. Toyota Highlander( it has a 4 cylinder motor with a turbo charger, and a 9 speed automatic transmission! My wife loves Subaru Outback, they have a 2.5L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder boxer ( Porsche) boxer motor, I've read that the newer f engine boxers use oil some say as much as 2 quarts between changes, and a cvt automatic transmission. We have decided against the Subaru Outback for sure. The Nissan Pathfinder 2nd yr of the new style, it has a 3.8L V6, and a 9 speed automatic transmission, pathfinder got a worse than average dependability rating, from consumer reports, as well as the Nissan Frontier with a new design also, has a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 with a 9 speed automatic transmission, also got a worse than average reliability relating from CR. Scotty you just did a segment on a man buying a new Frontier and favored it because of the motor and transmission set up. What do you think about the new designed Nissan Pathfinder compared to the CRV and the Toyota Highlander both received above average dependability ratings in CR, also so did Outback Subaru!

I'm personally thinking of maybe buying a Nissan Frontier or a Pathfinder. Or I might go with Mazda since they still use naturally aspirated engines and still have a manual transmission in the 3. But the real culprits are the politicians who have placed unreal emission standards. But I also blame car companies for not doing more to push back against the emission regulations. For those wondering, no, I do not believe that humans are contributing to climate change in any significant way and neither do the politicians or they wouldn't be buying up beachfront properties and the big bankers with millions on the line wouldn't be handing out mortgages for beach front commercial property.

He doesn’t like 4 cylinder turbo propelling heavy vehicles. Aren't Mercedes-Benz Sprinters 4 cylinder turbos? Sorry for going off topic in a Scotty clip. Looking at Ram van instead of Sprinter..due to engine.

Really thought about picking one up. Hard to find a Regular Highlander. Guess they are going to build more Grand H's. Bad thing is, it's heavier and the turbo tends to struggle. They won't "bump" it up for MPG, reliability and you can run 87 in it reasons. Toyota also has the service plan fees after the free trial is done. This is why Nissan and Honda still have their six's. Could they use a little more refinement and power, yeah. They are still smoother than a turbo four.

Just gave my daughter-in-law our 2013 limited Highlander with 145k miles. Wife love the Highlander so we went out and bought a 2024 limited with the 4-cylinder Turbo. Of course wanted the V6 but that was not an option. Car drives a little sluggish but I'm now worried about reliability. Heard Scotty say something about getting filings in the main bearings during the manufacturing proces. 2013 had ZERO issues.

I agree with you, Scotty. I bought a NEW 2022 GMC Canyon crew cab with the V6 over a 2023 model last year because in 2023 you could only get a 4 banger turbo or a 4 banger diesel turbo...no more v6. I was also looking at the new Toyota Highlanders but same problem...four banger only. Heck no. I want nothing to do with a turbo 4 cylinder cars being shoved down our throats. I loved our old 2005 Highlander with the V6, but only having the 4 banger was a no-go for me. We put about 189,000 miles on it and sold it to a family friend who needed a first car for their daughter. Did her great until she wrecked it. So yeah, I'll buy a used car with a v6 or v8 over these new overpriced four banger turbos. Ford and GM turbo vehicles are a definite NO WAY buy for me.

Tells me he picked up his friend and the pass side dropped down. 😂 I pop hood and noticed the hood in middle ish was bending up! The top of the strut tower rotted out so the struts were pressing on bottom of hood! Had to weld new sheet metal but struts were fine!

I have a 2012 Scion TC and the A/C is acting up strange. When in idle; it blows hot air but if I accelerate above 2,000RPMs without moving the car the it blows old air. I also noticed the fans aren’t moving a lot of air. The car doesn’t overheat at all even in the summer. What would be the first thing to do? Is the compressor bad? I don’t see any leaks. Switches maybe? The blower went bad (only working on HI) and I replaced it. The car has 100k miles. Thanks

Wow. Scotty is bashing Toyota and in a recent video he is praising some guys Audi! As far as German brands from most reliable to least 1. BMW 2. Porsche (slipping lower) 3. Mercedes (if the AC breaks it is $10K and they break). 4. VW (pretty awful - the diesels were okay) 5. Audi - the least reliable German brand. Most reliable Japanese brand? Maybe Mazda. They have made great progress. Oddly, I think Mitsubishi has improved to the point they are close to Honda and Toyo.
