Toyota JZX90/100 Mark II Hood Damper Replacement

UPDATE: Lift Supports Depot SE180P70 is the recommended hood struts (credit to Ryan Gault.) for the X90 as the force rating is closer to OEM than the Ram 2005 hood struts.
It's been found that 2005 Dodge Ram hood struts work for our cars. I saw a comment on JZXowners saying GX470 struts work but I cannot personally vouch for the GX470/4runner hood struts.
The Ram struts are strong, but nothing crazy. Just takes a bit more muscle to close the hood. You can also run just one strut rather than two.
The method and parts used works for both the X90 and X100 Mark II.
Not a necessary step but consider taking a few seconds to grease the ball mounts to minimize friction and maximize the lifespan of your new parts. I went ahead and greased the hood latch while I was there since stuck latches are common.
If you don't want to use the cutting method you may remove the ball mounts with the damper and buy new ball mounts.

Can't remember but you're better off with Lift Supports Depot SE180P70. Same measurements and force rating as the OEM X90 struts. I'll update the video description with this info.

You can unbolt the ones you currently have and bring it in to a part's store. They should be able to match it up.
