For someone like me who goes 4WDing, the GR Sport is definitely the pick of the bunch. But at $148k drive-away, whoooa. Toyota has definitely left distinctive price gap between the LC300 and the Prado now.
@tyronebarnett5373 жыл бұрын
I'd say the new prado will have a big price jump to tho with it's new series. I've always thought that the only reason to go a landcruiser over a prado is mainly the towing. Cause there just as good offroad as the other

@@tyronebarnett537 honestly any Toyota 4x4 is a great off-roading vehicle. A 2014 FJ cruiser is a better off-roader than 95% of the market today.

So to tour with this, $148k drive away, needs barwork, needs a rear wheel carrier, roof rack, storage system, Dual Battery system with Lithiums, Off Road tyres, OF shocks, Snorkle,Water tank, Replacement fuel tank 🙄 Not going to be hard to top $220k 😂 Ohhh what a feeling ! I can't wait to drive around the suburbs in one of these. I can really show the neighbours how superior I am. Hopefully it's even bigger and heavier than the previous model so I can really intimidate all the plebs in their little cars. And the bonus will be I have enough vehicle to handle any road works or gravel carparks. You never know when the bitumen is less than perfect. I think it would be perfect for commuting in the city, going to the supermarket, and doing the school run.

Having waited what seemed like forever I drove the LC300 Sahara ZX on Wednesday. Stunning looking car massive cabin upgrade, wants for nothing. BUT drives like a piece of old rope, its noisy, lots of lag when accelerating and lacks power. All the ten speed box does is increase the rpm and the noise. Smooth gear change but all the talk about the engine being too small is true. So much so I went out on Friday (yesterday) and bought a used very low km 2021 LC200 - drives like a proper LC. So I have 2 comments, 1 - dont buy the LC 300 until you test drive it against the LC 200 diesel and 2; I really have to ask, I am in my 50's and have owned a lot of cars but how is it both my wife and I knew instantly the LC 300 engine has all the problems that were speculated and not 1 single car critic has called this out. Absolutely astonishing - forget the stats they are quoting, the power all comes from the gear box. But, dont listen to me...go do a test drive.

The servicing cost is a small price to pay if you intend to own the vehicle for more than 5 Years. A regularly serviced Land cruiser will last 20+ years and more than 1/2 Million kms. You can't say the same for a Range Rover or a Mercedes which pretty much a throwaway after 7 years.
@AlaskanSnowLeopard3 жыл бұрын
Do you own a newer Land Cruiser? The service cost of this vehicle is not small. You're thinking of a Toyota Corolla, and this is not a Toyota Corolla. When you're buying a 100k vehicle, cost of maintenance should not be an issue for you. If you can't afford to pay for the maintenance of a vehicle, you shouldn't be buying in the first place because you can't afford it.

notice these reviews never mention the fact that Australian buyers are still being hit with a Luxury Car Tax. on the VX being around $20,500. these reviewers should all be screaming every chance they get about the fact that Australia no longer has a local car manufacturing industry, the reason the tax was introduced was to protect said industry. so why it it still in place? why are motorists being robbed to appease this government lust for YOUR money. I don't know if the $138K has the LCT factored in but if it hasn't that's a bloody dear piece of plastic.

Have driven the GR Sport and a GXL, the engine is punchy and better than the v8 IMHO. Its better than a 200, but it falls short on so many aspects and is such a let down. The lane keep assist is a cheap system that uses the breaks, cheaper 4x4's on the market have better safty systems than the 300. The rear seats are woeful, you get better seats and space in the boot of a Prado and the JBL and infotainment systems are just not up to par for this level of spend. Its an ok car, but it just not up todate with other cheaper 4x4's on the market. I have a Vx on order but no sure Ill go ahead with the purchase as you need the ekdss on this thing. The jurnos have drunk the coolade clearly, its an ok 4x4, more like a 200 upgrade more or less.

GXL one without the KDSS, how did it go as compared to the KDSS model. I am keen to know. Only the flagship model comes with KDSS. It is not available as an add-on option either.
@antht56223 жыл бұрын
@@jtomaugusthy5986 the 300 needs eKDSS. The GR sport was much more controled and a superior drive. In the normal mode the GR was sloppy, put it in sport and it was a completely different car. The GXL feels like an old 200 series, feels like a boat with the smallest bumps upseting the rear of the car.
@jtomaugusthy59863 жыл бұрын
@@antht5622 It will be a let down if it has body roll. I can’t quite understand Toyota’s pricing vs features ideology. It is not for listening to music but at that price point , another better alternative would have been ideal. Hope they bring KDSS as an option in the future and the petrol version of the LC300. 🤞.
