adding to the brake pedal bit where you cut - if you had a MK3 brake pedal, you could use that. the only modification you would have to do is cut the switch tab off of the supra pedal ('cause it's on the opposite side as would be on the cressida pedal backet) as well as the cressida brake switch tab - and tack weld it onto the supra pedal. Makes for 100% OEM look. also for those who haven't done the swap best know that the xcessive pedal has no return spring therefore the pressure is fully reliant on the pressure plate pushing back against the fork/slave/master. because of this, you end up with a strangely damp feeling pedal, missing an extra inch or two of lever pressure when bleeding the system, mounted in the car. this is remedied by taking the mk3 clutch pedal bracket, and cannibalizing the return spring system from it, and tack welding / transferring to the xcessive pedal. i was going to start making videos but i've never had any real time to do it, so i hope someone else finds this information helpful, as i went through hell making my setup as oem and perfect as can be. also, good job on the videos, you've earned a subscriber. maybe i'll use this as leverage to get a move-on with displaying the work i've done with my x8 and future jobs thereafter.

just adding to this, mk3 supra clutch pedal boxes DO NOT BOLT RIGHT IN ON RHD MODELS! some modifications are required! A jzx90 clutch box can fit BUT you need to bend or cut off the top mount, it is too high. You'll have to remove the studs on the box however if you're using a master cylinder that has its own studs. KE conversions has an mx83 manual conversion kit, but there is no provision for a return spring; you will need to tack weld an extension on and drill a hole in the pedal for such a return spring. You will also need to drill out a threaded hole for a clutch switch if you wish to get it working with cruise control

Did my brothers headgasket not to long ago in lincoln tech. Gonna focus on mine now and get all the maintenance in. But the most exciting project i have for my car is doing the manual swap
@RatchetFinesse6 жыл бұрын
We did the headgasket on Huey’s x8. Mine just got maintenance and we checked the head bolts with a retorque to the updated spec. You won’t regret the manual. It’s worth the effort in these things.

Any reason u didn't use a mk3 clutch fork instead of truck ?
@RatchetFinesse2 жыл бұрын
The mk3 fork is discontinued so you can’t buy it new. That’s about it.

@@RatchetFinesse ok thanks. picked up a mk3 w58 with fork and housing. got lucky i suppose. diving into the swap after my DM order gets here!

Hi will be putting a W58 into my MX83 soon. Does that Xcessive pedal have mounting points for a switch so it won't start unless the pedal is depressed? Also did you keep your cruise control and ABS at all?
@RatchetFinesse4 жыл бұрын
The pedal does not have a spot to mount a switch. Both of our cars will start without the clutch depressed. Both cars don’t have abs and we didn’t care to hook up the cruise control. There’s some info about cruise control on the forums but no exact write up. The way it’s wired now, the car is always in neutral. You’ll have to add some relays/switch to the trans wiring to simulate “D” for the cruise control system to work.
@edbo10 Жыл бұрын
there's a black-white wire in the connector going to the cruise control computer. Use a pin and remove it from the connector, tape up the end so it doesn't short to any metal. Cruise control will now work when the gear selector is in neutral, even when you clutch in, so just keep that in mind when you need to change gears. Can always just pull the hand brake lever up a little bit to disengage it too.

How to bypass the nuetral safety switch?
@RatchetFinesse2 жыл бұрын
It's part of the transmission harness. Pretty much you ground 2 wires together to make the car think it's in neutral/park all the time.

Just picked up a cressy a couple weeks ago and have piecing together the swap, last thing I need to buy is a flywheel. Any chance you have a 7m/w58 flywheel? I've been looking everywhere for one that is reasonably priced and cant find shit!
@RatchetFinesse5 жыл бұрын
OEM ones are hard to come by. If you're lucky you might find a used one for $150-200. Otherwise aftermarket is your only option. One of our swaps came complete with a flywheel, we searched for about 2 months to find the other one.

how much did the whole swap cost if you dont mind me asking ..im picking up a cressida tomorrow thanks in advance
@RatchetFinesse4 жыл бұрын
The swap should cost about $1000 - $2000 depending on how much you pay for the trans and what new parts you have to buy. You will spend more time collecting parts than actually doing the swap.

Was this swap done with the stock 7mge engine?

Yes. The engine came stock.
