At first you should have air blowing the working area to clean up dust before you disassembled coils/spark plugs and it is necessary to torque the new spark plugs to 13 or 14 ft-lbs.

The OEM spark plugs, I believe are like the rest of all Toyota four-cylinder engines, 18 foot pounds torque. It's always best to double check, it is also best not to use any anti-seize. The 13 or 14 pound rating is if you dare use anti-seize. OEM spark plugs are treated with a shiny silver coating that does not require anti-seize.

What is the tool you used to remove the old plugs? I didn’t quite understand you were able to remove them, did it magnets or is the some sort of hook?

You can use flexible magnetic stick or push to hold stick as well its depends on availability. But make sure first it's free from all threads. Then it will be out easily. Thanks
