Thank you for this video. Once installed I just put it on battery mode for the software to automatically load. Then cranked it up and started beautifully. I have the 2019 trail edition. Btw. I also notice there is a lot of room on the battery tray. I think there’s a way to upgrade to a bigger battery. But I’m oem. So there’s no need to. Perhaps people who installed flood lights and light bars may be interested in upgrading to a bigger battery.

Thank you for the video. My new battery came with an elbow vent and plug to attach to the battery. But the old battery (that came with car when purchased) did not have any vent hose attached, nor does there appear to be any loose hose to attach the elbow vent to. Should I just ignore this vent and plug?

Do you recommend using a memory saver before removing the battery?

Memory saver will save radio station and time settings. Time will regain by satellite, with or without saver anyway, in a couple of hours. I am not sure if memory seats settings might be affected- this car doesn't have it. Some features required data collection during driving. So bottom line- using memory saver is a good idea but "emergency battery replacement" without it will not" kill" the base settings.

No, we did not register it.

when losening the bolt on mine, it will not come off. It will move side to side, but cannot lift or force it off. Ended up having to remove bolt completely, and then a small piece popped off and disappeared down into the engine compartment. Still couldnt get the darn the off, terms out the battery terminal is warped or something, had to open the connector up to remove it. But why it so coroded after just 4 years ? had and driven 6 cars in 20 years in south florida, longer and more miles than this and never this problem.

Are there any codes that will reset in the Rav 4 or its just good to go ?

I was able to drive right away. Time was restored by satellite shortly, you will lose radio station and maybe some personal settings but all main features remain intact. No codes were produced.

Normally, you should be able to remove it fairly easy. If it is too tight, you can try using longer ratchet.

Yes, you can start the car. Things like the time and radio stations will reset. We didn't get any error codes after the replacement.

My 2020 Rav4 AGM battery lasted little over 4 years so i'm happy with that. Most of my driving is highway miles though so maybe that's how I milked it so long. i'll be replacing it today with one a bit less powerful so a bit worried but it should be fine.

electronic drain does that; on my last car 2019 corolla used 3 batteries over 6 years--it was the remote starter which drains the battery because it is always on. the dealer confirmed it, needs a disconnect switch for when I didn't use it for 3 or 4 day or else have to charge it every day by driving on the highway. I'm buying a battery disconnect switch from amazon this winter for sure when my rav 4 xle comes in.

So after changing the battery my radio just constantly restarts (reboots)…the touch screen doesn’t work and none of the buttons work. Do I just need to wait a few hours and these will work again?

We did not have any issues after replacing the battery. Did you manage to figure out what was the problem?

My “maintenance required visit your dealer” message will NOT go away, I’ve reset maintenance schedule numerous times. I noticed that if I reset the schedule, have my AC off, then start the car - maintenance required doesn’t pop up. But once I turn on my AC, the message comes back up and will not go away. I might try disconnect/reconnect the battery to see if that makes it go away.

Are you sure the 12V battery is located under the hood? On 2019-2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrids, the 12V battery is located in the rear, passenger side, just on to the rear of the rear wheel well.
