It's the same thing with the Evo X and NSX. JDM fans hate change. As said by the mighty Mr. regular: "they want something new, but the same" (from his Evo X review). They cannot accept the plain reality that change was inevitable. The problem is that there wasn't a smooth transition. If Honda made 2 or 3 more generations of the NSX between the 1st one and the current one that smoothly transitioned from Na V6 to twin turbo hybrid V6, there might have been less hate. If Toyota made more generations of the Supra in the 20 year hiatus where they smoothly transitioned from the MK4 to the current one, there might have been less hate.
