Tundra vs. Sequoia for Towing - Which One is Better?

When towing a travel trailer full-time, having the right vehicle is crucial. In this video, I compare my new to me 2013 Toyota Tundra to my old 2004 Toyota Sequoia and explain why I made the switch.
For the past year, we towed our Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX 2108DS with a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. While the Sequoia handled the job, it struggled on inclines, making mountain travel stressful. I upgraded its suspension with:
✅ Old Man Emu rear springs
✅ Air Lift 1500 airbags
✅ Bilstein 5100 shocks
Even with those upgrades, it still wasn’t ideal for long-term towing. That’s when I found a one-owner 2013 Toyota Tundra, boasting a 9,900 lb towing capacity-a huge improvement over the Sequoia’s 6,500 lb capacity.

We are looking at newer 4wd Sequoias (2018-2022) with the 5.7 we would like 4wd and really are more SUV people than truck people. However, that truck looks great- what was the coast and mileage? Itis not 4wd, correct? Bummer you are leaving Bradenton, we are across the statute from you in Port St Lucie. Good luck on your travels!

I paid 18k plus taxes and such. 125,000 miles at purchase. Not 4x4, correct.

I'm almost positive, that does not have a 10,000 pound towing capacity. I believe, the 10,000 pounds is only for the stripped down single cab version.

Agree. 4:3 diff. Horrible mileage, pulls like a champ.

@@RobtheRVguy eh every v8 1/2 ton is gonna be a pig, tundra might get 1-2 mpg worse than comparable… but then u have to deal with the terrible reliability so the mpg argument is negligible which is why I bought the same truck
