yeah that's all fine and dandy... but I went to go try to jack up the back, where is the placement points to place the jack the jack under the car. Seems like mine is has plastic tabs, well thats probably not the spot to place the jack.

If your 2022 Sienna did not come with a spare and came with the pump kit for a flat tire, can the spare tire be added on at the dealership? I can’t believe that most of Sienna’s don’t come with the optional spare tire. So car it be added to it at the dealership?

If you try to add it you have to change panels etc. I believe the last time I priced it out it was about $1400 to add the spare

The sienna is available in both the AWD and the FWD and the spare tire is available in both but it is an option not standard

I have a question about an oddity. Why does having the ottoman seats mean the Sienna can't have a spare tire? It's 12AM, you've hit a curb and broken your wheel and of course, the tire is useless. It'll be 4+ hours before roadside assistance service can get to you. When you could just swap out the tire yourself in about 20 minutes. My 135lb mother showed me how to change a tire at age 13. Having a spare wheel *IS* a safety item that an air pump or a can of goo may not help. Considering the avg adult man in 220lbs, a 40~50lb wheel and tire isn't that much weight to a 4700lb Sienna. 15lbs of gasoline in your tank = 90lbs. If we wanna get more gas mileage, don't go past half a tank. 50lbs = a fraction difference in fuel. A pint of fuel for every 1000miles? Hmmm, with millions of cars on the road, that's a LOT of wasted fuel.

Its more about Cafe standards. They need the extra 1/4 or 1/2 MPG to be within the government cafe standards for fleet fuel economy..

I am highly disappointed in Toyota for not including a tire in the upper trims. Spend that much on a vehicle made to haul families and you get no spare. Lower trims having one and others not is asinine too.

@@stevenwelchtoyota It should come standard, especially on higher trims. Whats more, I’m not sure I ever knew Toyota considered such a basic thing as an option. Spare tires, to me, are like having electric windows. Of course I want them. But they’re also like having AC in the south: I need it. It’s 2024; nothing about a spare tire should render it as a mere option, especially a vehicle designed specifically to haul children.

@@johnnybizzle2748 just to hit government fuel economy numbers some like kia are removing spares on most of their cars along with others. It is a trend across the industry not to eliminate it. At least there is an option to add it back with toyota

@@stevenwelchtoyota And I know I should’ve read the fine print. But I’ve driven some pretty cheap cars in my life, and by far the Sienna was the most money we had ever spent on one, and to my knowledge it’s literally the only vehicle I’ve ever owned with no spare tire. So my naivety was at least based on historical precedent, but I won’t trust the sticker price to mean that the vehicle includes logical standard features anymore.
