I love my mbrp, but I actually like the sound. Personally, being able to hear my truck makes my ride more enjoyable.

Hello Xander Lilledahl. I honestly like the exhaust when I was driving under 45 mph, it was a cheaper but good exhaust. Once I started commuting and driving over 60 mph, that's when I decided to take it off. Thanks for your input, everyone is going to have different opinions of the exhaust.

Hello @@123mistax. On a side note, is your exhaust rusting at the hinges? Mine rusted heavily on the hinges, I should of powder coated the exhaust and hinges before installing it.

@@pentzwerks Mine hasn't rusted yet, been on for almost 8 months, or so. But I'm in the bay area, not a whole lot of rain or humidity.

Hello Izzy Moore. Thank you for the positive feedback; if you ever need any accessories please feel free to reach out. Micheals Toyota of Bellevue can help you; ask for Monroe and tell him Dean sent you. Best of luck driving the manual in Seattle; I'm use to it now so I do not worry about the hills. Make sure you utilize the clutch start cancel if you stall it on a steep hill.

Hello Sam Dequina. I've recently sold my MBRP and upgraded to a Strumong Catback Exhaust that sounds really good. I'll be uploading a video of the sound clip shortly. I think it sounds better than the TRD Pro, similar priced but the quality of the Stromung is better than the Pro exhaust. NO DRONING, No annoying sounds and it's only heard when you get on the throttle a lot. Here's the unboxing video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4i5eYeZgs6la7c

Whats the difference between the black coated and normal mbrp? Does the black coat help with the rusting? Im asking because i take my tacoma off roading a lot and im looking for a aftermarket exhaust
@pentzwerks5 жыл бұрын
Hello Justin Pham. The black edition is less likely to become rusty. If you off-road a lot, then simply spray paint the exhaust before installing it. Your truck will be completely rusted underneath if you off road a lot. Buy a $10 can of rustuem from an auto parts store instead of paying $200 extra for the black edition.
@jmabs50962 жыл бұрын
Paying extra for something you can do with a can of spray paint to add a little more protection. Personally I paint all my exhaust with high heat paint. I tend to get a few more years out of my exhaust here in the rust belt

Reply 4 years later. But I got 3rd Gen Tacoma with 3.5 V6, manual transmission. I installed “aftermarket” Cold Air Intake, and MBRP Catback, drone is horrendus. (Big word) Instead of dealing with J Pipes, or resonators, other BS, I bought “higher end” catback. zptonlem solved.

Hello Zandr Brooks. I ended up selling mine for $150 after coating it with spray paint. I have access to a sand blaster, so I was able to refinish the surface. I would say you could get $100 - $125, post it on craigslist and see who is interested.

You are not going to get any appreciable increase in horsepower or torque given the presence of the catalytic converters which are the most restrictive element in the exhaust system. You would need to put on headers and a true dual exhaust (sans converters) to see real gains and that would be for a race motor operating at high rpms.
@pentzwerks6 жыл бұрын

Helo Lee Smitherman. I live in Washington where the roads are not salted during the winter and they use sand. The exhaust should not have any rust on it as it had only been on the truck for 20,000 miles with no off road miles.
@doallyoucan814 жыл бұрын
@@pentzwerks Yeah, it looks like it's mostly the bolts for the bracket though. I mean, I'm just thinking that like most people say, for $250 bones and what is almost two years worth of driving for some people that's pretty minimal. Do you expect that would eventually rust a hole in it or something? I guess it really all comes down to the gauge of the steel they use as to how long it would take to rust out a hole or any real damage.
@pentzwerks4 жыл бұрын
Hello @@doallyoucan81 I do not suspect the exhaust to rust all the way through unless I lived on the east coast and drove it 100,000 miles. I removed this exhaust after uploading this video, now I have a Stromung Exhaust. The quality is a lot better but it is 2x as expensive.
