The primary reason for re-badging suzuki cars is for fulfilling CAFE norms. Toyota's majority sales comes from its diesel and also they don't have electric cars in their line up.

I just finished 2 months and 2200kms with my Taisor 1.0 6AT. I will explain why I bought this after driving every possible hatchback-like car under 15l (i20 N Line, C3 Aircross AT, Altroz Ricer, 3XO and Punch EV. I needed a small car for my mom who had a Tiago AMT, now I did not want an AMT again nor do I like CVTs. So naturally I drove all available TC and DCT cars, 1. i20 N Line too stiff for parents to use. 2. Citroen did not offer AT in C3 back then. 3. 3XO GDI engine too peaky and jerky to drive. 4. Altroz Racer gearbox and clutch not easy to drive in the city and Punch EV I did not find mind blowing enough plus I had experienced Tata ASC so did not want to go down that road again. My only choice was Fronx because it had enough power for occasional highway trips as well as a smooth TC for daily commute in heavy traffic. So it’s for those who aren’t exactly value conscious, need as small of a car as possible and want this as a 2nd or 3rd car of the house. For most others I would recommend 3XO as an all rounder and i20 if you want the driver’s car.

Unsafe platform aside, Fronx/Taisor AT are too overpriced for what they offer. 3XO TCMPFI(non GDI) AT would have suited you well.

@@abhi8441999 I drove the TCMPFI in MT guise, much better than the GDI but that was because it was a manual, you have a much finer control of the powerband. There was no MPFI AT available for a test drive, I needed another TC in as small of a package as possible, and last but not the least, I like looking back at my car after I park it.

@@abhi8441999 I drove all variations of the 3XO, didn’t like the GDI AT cause of peaky power delivery and annoying ADAS (almost got us rear-ended). And besides that, I like looking back at my cars after I park them.

@@shubham_M7777 Not as such, I use my Taisor on Pune’s horrible roads everyday. It has absorbent ride quality as long as the roads aren’t filled with deep sudden ruts. Even with lower-profile tyres that come on the top variant.

Maruti has also increased warranty to 3 Years & 1 Lac KMs on Fronx, I received 6 Years & 1.6Lac KM warranty after paying 20K more

I bought Taisor 1L Turbo recently. I found it more comfortable both while driving and in the rear seat over Nexon, Brezza & 3XO. There is so much space to stretch out and relax. The ride quality is fantastic. Unfortunately, there is no Kia showroom in my town as I was very interested in trying the Sonet. My logic for the Turbo over NA was 1) Safety; the Turbo gets 6 airbags and the NA doesn't. 2) Features; they put all useful (to me) features like UV cut glasses, rear defogger/wipers,Wireless Android, charger, rear vents, 360 camera etc all in the Turbo variant. I'm using most of these features on my daily commute and when my family is with me. If there was an option, I'd have liked all these top variant features with the NA since it's such a great engine.

Trust me sonet is not worth trying if you are above 5.5ft and have family members exceeding the said height as the under thigh support is too high which would result in body ache in longer rides and there is not much space in the back cabin as well The suspension might feel stiff as well given that it has increased height but that it due to them keeping the tyre air pressure higher then required

Problem is the Fronx/ Taisor 1.2 does not comes in top trims which missed out multiple features e.g rear wiper, bigger infotainment screen to name a few. The Fronx/ Taisor Turbo definitely does not justifies it price.

Hi Gagan the fronx/taisor 1.2 liter engine does not come with essentials like rear washer wiper, rear AC vents which is the reason for people to buy the turbo engine.

That 1.0L engine is good. As you said if the car is loaded, it is a great choice. 1.2L has to be revved nicely for overtaking, which can get tiring after a few hours. What could be done was that a slightly stiffer suspension could be offered with the turbo variants, which would actually make this car a lot better. 6 speed AT is great, what are the downsides to it?

Sir I like the way you present the facts, it's fun. I am looking to buy a new car in next 6 months, I am first time buyer and new driver also. My budget is under 8-10L. Safety and reliability are the major concerns. I am in an area where all major brands service centers are there. Mostly will drive on weekends, will keep it for long term 8+ years. What you can suggest ? Punch is my fav but service issues are concerning. Venue is other one.

Both gearbox options for city are bulletproof reliable. Depends on what you want. If you have very high city usage and want a smooth automatic, get the cvt. If you are an enthusiastic driver who wants to occasionally extract performance, manual city is a great option. Clutch and gearbox are also light so won't be a problem in the city.

In Karnataka the top end goes till 16 lk😮😮😮 So cars are getting overpriced consistently every year. Don't know what government is doing with so much money.. hope they invest in defence and health care more than what it is today

While researching for Baleno vs Galnza .. I was told that Glanza has a superior suspension by toyota reps.. and I could feel it a little more smoother than Baleno's. now Fronx and Taisor being cousins of B and G ... I think they should have that difference too ... maybe a revision required ??

That's highly unlikely for both Baleno/Glanza & Fronx/Taisor. They're all manufactured in the same factory and come out of the same production line. The engine, gearbox and suspension tuning for all these cars is done by the same people to the same specifications. Maybe you felt a difference between Baleno & Glanza due to the different age and maintenance of the vehicles. Maybe the Toyota showroom took better care of their demo car.

Thanks for the review, but one thing you missed major difference between 1.2 and 1 is the AMT vs TC. I just hate the pathetic AMT jerks in Baleno/Fronx, on the contrary i10 AMT is extremely good and nill jerks. So how do you feel about the TC performance on the 1.0 Taisor? Also 1.2 AMT Fronx/Taisor doesnt have features. To me, if 1.2 go for baleno/glanza, if 1.0, go for Fronx/Taisor.
