For you folks giving him a hard time about not reinstalling the correct glass. If you're at a dealership...and they dont want to pay extra for the heated windshield... you install a glass without it. I've done this several times for dealerships myself. It will not cause any issues as far as the vehicle working properly. Now if it were a LKA OR a rain sensor... that's a different story. Do I feel sorry for the future owner of the vehicle... sure. That's why I buy older vehicles without any technology built into the windshield... I'll take a 1549 vehicle any day over this new crap

a question, when it installs by itself, you stick it top first or you start bottom then feel it.

I'm not a pro, but I occasionally install glass in vehicles I'm fixing up. I was told to put the urethane on the glass as this expert does, but I see many others put it in the pinch weld. Is one way better or is there a reason to do it one way or the other ?

peter baxter Fewer seams when you shoot the glass compared to shooting the pinch weld. But with all the hidden pinch welds now you risk missing the bottom pinch weld when shooting the glass. Usually stick to shooting the body as long as you can seam the bead properly.

Either way works mate! The reason for beading the body is to make sure you don’t miss like you could if you shoot the glass! It’s a safer option if unsure! V bead on glass or body is fine even a round bead if done right on body will work aswell

For a 2013 Highlander is there supposed to be a rubber lining covering the top of the glass on the top edge? Had mine done today and I don't see any lining on top edge.

You don't have to worry about it, its just skinny molding thats supposed to be under the glass. But the instaler decided not to put molding, sometimes its better without molding because molding only keeps dust inside, and anyway your car would look better without molding.

Fácil ocupas como 3 cabrones más para sostener el cromo adentro del gasket y si se sale el cromo empezar de nuevo jaja. Es difícil pero si se puede..

Eric Bray. Depend what technique are you master..but two system woeks great moongose .ofert speed and strong cuts.....and pro 6 ofert fast with drill and manual to work slow and safe..and works good in small areas.. But your choice...price will affect your decition...good luck..

I would strongly look at the WRD Spider WRS-002S cutout tool. I have been using it exclusively for about 5 years now and I love it. I use a Milwaukee M12 brushless drill with it and it is efficient and easy to use. Not that there is anything wrong with the 2 you mentioned, but I thought I would give you my thoughts on alternative tools.

You’re installing the wrong part, you needed a glass with a heated wiper parking area as it equipped on the original glass

Why not just use the ez wire? This seems like a whole lot more work and more moving around lol, in my opinion I rather use ez wire if it’s compressed hard, then use steel wire idk my opinion

I had windshield replaced and when driving about 40mph , I hear wind seeping through the window. Called the shop and they suspect the bead rolled or something like that on the bottom. This is what happens if you go with mom and pops company , they don't do it right the first time.

Jeff Jeff I bought a used tundra and the windshield was cracked so the dealership paid for a new windshield but I wasn’t aware of the heated windshield issue. Now I’m having issues with my key fob, airbag warning light, seatbelt warning light, and a few other issues. What should I do to get this fixed?
