Steve, thanks for the tutorial! Very helpful. Just bought my son a ‘22 Tacoma SR5, and as you mentioned in the video, the cleats may not already be installed. His wasn’t (they were packaged/stored in the middle compartment). My son absolutely loves his new pickup!

Hi : Found out to put them back in the slots !!! Just have to release the spring all the way, and press it in to the slot and let go !!. Simple when you know how, and when the light bulb comes on.

Are the rails same size on the tundras then on the tacomas are you able to use same clips????

Do you know what size the bolts are that attach the rails to the truck?

Not much use unless the cargo is taller than those anchor points. How’s that going to secure a bunch of studs? Need D-rings on the floor!

@@stevenwelchtoyota how you going to tie down 1/2 dozen 2x4 12 footers with anchors 6 inches above the floor? My F150 has eyes in the corners as close to the floor as possible without being on the floor. Flush rings in the floor like an equipment trailer would be ideal.

Hey Steve, I got these rail system too in my Tacoma. I installed a adjustable 2 piece ladder rack, now I got a solid lumber rack ( contractor cargo lumber rack) Question: any tricks on installing a real lumber rack without removing the rail system. No one has done a video on youtube, & is important to ppl who work with these trucks instead of carrying a canoe on weekends....Thanks bud

I know that the rail system is rated to hold around 100 lbs per location. I would bet you would find something you could use with the deck rail system

I’m not a fan of the rail system. Makes installing toolboxes and racks more difficult. The moveable cleats are nice but unnecessary. Realistically you need 1 at each corner and one in the middle would be nice. I love the composite bed, especially here in Hawaii, but just don’t like the rails.
