Toyota Venza P0057 Check Engine Fix

This is a video quickie that shows the basics of how to locate and replace a faulty bank 2, sensor 2 oxygen sensor on a V6 Toyota Venza that triggers a P0057 check engine code. When this failure occurs it is not uncommon to ALSO see the AWD and traction control lights illuminate. When diagnosing multiple system errors it is best to always address the primary failure (the o2) sensor before trying to address secondary symptoms (the AWD and traction control failure indicators).
This procedure applies to all Venzas with the 2GR-FE 3.5 liter V6 engine for model years 2009-2015. Other models of Toyotas and Lexus vehicles that use the same engine will likely have a similar repair procedure.

I'm driving a 2010 Toyota venza and the same lights came on so I took it to Kings Toyota in March I was told a coil was bad. so I replaced every coil and every spark plug just so they were all new at the same time and so I wouldn't have to fix them one by one and pay double going back and forth. I ordered my own parts online from Toyota and ended up paying around 760 .So now its Jan and the lights are on again so I take it back to Toyota now they are saying it's something with my exhaust that keeps making the check engine light and the skid traction light come on and that it would cost 500 . I don't understand it

I tried this on my 2004 camry v6. p0057 code came on and replacing the bank 2 sensor 2 didn't fix it. Any idea what else could be wrong

hmm, you will need to do some further troubleshooting. Having "nested" failures is always a challenge since they can be difficult to pinpoint. Not sure what to tell you other than to maybe take it to a shop to have them diagnose it? Do you have any other codes that popped up alongside your P0057?

@@piercedasian Same problem toyota sienna 2008 and have replaced sensor. I am thinking it maybe the wiring or a fuse.

What is the part number for the NGK sensor? Thanks

Yikes its been so long I don't recall but if you go to the NGK website it should list it based on the make and model and location of the sensor for your vehicle.

That just happened to me but I dnt know yet which code is it because the ENGINE LIGHT AND AWD came on, any idea what could be the problem I have a 2013 Toyota Venza AWD

You will need to pull the codes to be certain as the flashing lights just means that there is an error condition.

I dnt know if this is normal but it turns out that when I got out of work and turned on my Venza the lights didn’t appear anymore, and there were there when I start the car this morning, why you think this happened? Because the thing is there was a storm and there was a lot of rain and a lot of flood street so when I wake up that when to start the car I noticed that the check engine and AWD lights were but I’ve never had that problem and like I said they just went away by themselves I didn’t do anything to it. Do you think there’s my still be a problem or something?

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't even see your response until now. If the lights all went away it means the fault condition has gone away. If the excessive water was the trigger and things have dried out then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Modern cars are pretty sophisticated in detecting even the smallest of faults and will show a dummy indicator on the dash. If the lights don't come on and it drives fine then leave well alone.
