D mode for the gear are the best B are only for downhill brake. In B it will use the engine more. D + eco mode than you will easy do 3.5.

because of B more it makes Engine Breaks more and thus you use more gas pedal to gain speed. B more is only for downhill not to use foot brake, in D mode when you use with the flow (using least amount of) only optimizing the gas pedal according to road conditions ( you understand the style) you will get 2.8 3 liters of consumption

Why is Toyota lending a car to someone who doesn't understand cars? He can't even prepare to test something new? Only a total amateur can drive in B mode.

Read the manual before driving. In the manual you can read, that D gives better economy than driving in B. B is only for downhill driving.

You should not be driving in B mode bc it is only intended for downhill. It uses the petrol engine to recharge the battery. You should be in D mode for maximal consumption. Could you do this again?

Diesel v hybrid is a very interesting conversation but you need to factor it over the next 5-10 years before you can see the advantages and disadvantages
@dmtr759 ай бұрын
My Yaris hybrid gets 4,2 l/100 km, that's the average over the last 3 years, operated in city, and on overland and the German Autobahn, a number that corresponds very well with other real-world numbers. To beat that, a diesel has to get 3,6 or less. Why? Because diesel fuel has a 15 % higher density. So, when regarding efficiency and CO2 emissions, one has to add 15 % to the diesel consumption number to make a fair comparison. But comparable diesel cars show real-world long-term averages of 5 - 5,5 l/100 km (equivalent to 5,8 - 6,4 l gasoline). Plus, diesel engines have more emission problems (nitrous oxides, particles) due to their operation mode (high combustion room temperatures, lean operation, almost always direct injection), which also makes emission cleaning more complicated and thus more expensive (LNT, SCR, DPF). Another plus is the fact that hybrids, at least those from Toyota, have fewer components that can fail (gearbox, clutch, belts) or wear (brakes).
