Pretty much 40k out the door with any add on . I like it but I can’t justify 40k for 2d 2wd . Love the color. I’d consider buying a used one at 34k . That’s actually what it’s worth

2d is one of this truck's best features. The 4d on the Tacoma is worse than useless. 4d adds weight, lowers MPG, reduces driver visibility, reduces hauling volume, and nobody wants to sit in the back seats.

@@Cavemol5823 I didn't make my point clear enough. When you say "there's still no room in the back", I assume you're referring to the xtracab space. This is understood and an accepted and desirable trait of the truck. The space is big enough to stow away cargo that a driver might want in the cab, not passengers. This leaves room in the bed for a larger volume of cargo. From my perspective, the reason for developing a truck in the first place is for hauling and towing capability. A larger 6' bed maximizes that hauling capability for the Tacoma. The purpose of developing a truck is most certainly not to chauffeur passengers in the rear seats. Save that for a 4-Runner or Sequoia. Trucks are about utility, not useless 4 doors and useless back seats that create a heavier truck with worse MPG, worse visibility, lower hauling capacity, etc. I've said it before and I'll say it again; if Toyota developed a Tacoma TRD Pro or Trailhunter with extracab configuration, sales would be so spectacular that their 4 door models would quickly decline in sales.

Maybe it was growing up in the 80's and lusting for Marty's truck in "Back to the Future", but I've always thought that an Extra Cab was the best looking of all three truck configurations. If this had the new rear suspension, I wouldn't even have to think about it, it's the one I would pick. However, since it will spend almost all of it's time on paved roads, with about half of that mileage towing a small camper or watercraft, I don't want to settle for leaf springs.

Would be nice to see an access cab. My understanding from a video produced by an influencer tho discussed this with a Toyota engineer is that they opted for an extra cab because it adds needed rigidity to the frame. I respect that they took this approach rather than produce a truck that starts having issues with the frame warping and eventually doors don't close properly. I'd rather have a strong, durable extracab. The lack of access cab doors is only a minor inconvenience. They made up for this with storage compartments.

@@RedondoBeach2this is a huge exaggeration. Ford and Nissan still make suicide doors. Toyota we’re being cheap asses with the XtraCab design. They have the budget to design a proper extended cab without sacrificing the doors and jump seats.

@@callofdutyguy9 If you're right, that's another insult to consumers. Still, I will have a look at the PreRunner when it becomes available. Have't seen one yet. If it doesn't sell like the rest of their trucks allegedly are not selling, maybe I'll buy a 2026 6model when it becomes available. I don't want to buy the first or second year of a new model. Let others buy into that R&D experiment. I'll stay away. However, if a lot of people are staying away for similar reasons, Toyota has a lot of work to do if they want to sell metal.

9:07 PreRunner weight 4,145-4,200lbs. In another one of your videos, you indicated the SR5 weight is 4,485-4,720 lbs. I'll take the lighter, more useful, and better MPG Pre-Runner. Four door Tacomas are worse than useless, they're costly in terms of capability lost: power due to added weight, fuel economy due to added weight, hauling capacity due to smaller bed, visibility due to larger cabin. Toyota, for 2025 give the PreRunner and independent rear suspension and this truck will be a big winner. Essentially upgrade the 2024 PreRunner to the Offroad specification with an extracab instead of 4 doors. I will buy that truck if you produce it. Otherwise, I'm opting for an older used Tacoma or Tundra.
