You should do another follow up where we get to hear the individual pieces. What does the mesa sound like? What does the Jubilee sound like? What does it sound like with and without the Pultec curve? What about the 67 vs the 121?
@makebelievestudio10 ай бұрын
That sounds like a great idea and we just may do it. What else would you like to know slash hear?
@TheDwarfInvasion10 ай бұрын
@@makebelievestudio hmmm. I guess probably but would be best to hear 67, then 121, then both together. Same with amps. Each individually, then both together. Also, I grabbed a pultec plugin and did a frequency sweep to see what that pultec EQ setting actually does. Low values of boost at 100hz reach up super high in frequency on a pultec, up to 1k or 2k. So it's not intuitive what the final curve would look like when you add that to a 4k boost. That 100hz boost could be labeled as a 500hz low shelf boost on a different EQ (or maybe even a 1,500hz high shelf cut) I can email screenshots of the frequency response to you if you want.
@makebelievestudio10 ай бұрын
Oh I know how a pultec works for sure. Not a curve easily recreated with a straight digital eq but there are plenty of plugins out there. We will make a follow up with all this in mind. Thank you again!!

Thanks for putting the profiles up, I'm going to give them a try with a strat as I seem to hear that splatty type of attack that 25.5 guitars tend to have with mid-gain tones (and hitting the pickguard) more across TYPOAJ as opposed to EOTS. As for the LPs, the ones I've noticed/seen the most of from the areas I've looked: -1999 40th Anniversary R9 Cherry Sunburst - Used a lot for different parts across different records -2002? Goldtop R7 (the LP Jade is seen with in the snippet). I don't think this was a regular production R7 but one that was spec'd/aged, maybe with BB 2&3 pickups, maybe 57 Classics, aged hardware idk hard to say. Matt Skiba I think also messed around with this guitar a bit during the Crimson recording sessions. -1975-1979? Les Paul Custom Alpine White - Tom used this guitar in the video when he's going through the First Date intro/verse. Skiba (I'm concluding) also used this for the main rhythm guitar tones on Good Mourning. -I've also seen a 1998? Les Paul Elegant used in the Good Mourning recording sessions. Don't know too much of the maroon LP, will have to look into that one. If anyone's got exact dates on a few of those guitars I'd like to know, spent too much time looking through Internet Archives and KZbin videos haha.
