I know right? Lots of KZbin teachers don’t seem to realize we’re watching a recording and can pause, rewind, skip, etc… they teach it like they would someone in the room.

First 4 Aerosmith albums are all Classics. So glad that father time gave me the opportunity to listen to these albums in my early teens, as they were released. They were young. I was younger and it was magic. I really appreciate your appreciation of these early Aerosmith albums. I don't think I bought another album after Rocks. Just not the same band, musically. They sort of took out the blues and the balls and replaced it with a mass appeal pop sound.

Having been born in 1961 I totally agree with your comment that this was the best version of Aerosmith..especially if you are a hard rock/metal music fan like me. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were the 2 albums that started me on my endless journey of heavy guitar/blues driven music.

Thank you for the great video -- Very cool. This was the first album I ever actually bought. I thought Aerosmith were the kings of cool back when I was a kid (aside from Dean Martin, of course). I must preface that by relegating my praise to only the FIRST FIVE albums because in the 80s, Aerosmith got a vasectomy, then they got full out neutered as they degenerated into limp-dicked "housewife rock." 80's Aerosmith made me ashamed to even say I ever liked them to begin with. The first four Aerosmith albums in particular made them the best American rock/ hard rock band. They were our Zeppelin, or Stones, because they were more like a hard rock version of the Stones. I forgot how much I loved them when I was a kid. I can play things on guitar, and a sometimes pretty well, if i apply myself, but i can NOT do it without people like you. I can't figure anything out on my own. GREAT video. Thanks.

You gave a good channel. You just appeared in my feed, i guess because i was searching for Seasons of Wither lessons. It weird how channels exsist, and they never show up in my searches. Yiur channel is new to me. Anyway, I'm sending a link to your channel to a cyber friend i met while gaming. He got me playing guitar again. He's a vintage Tele nut. He talked so much about the damned things , the next thing i knew, i was buying one myself, which was great because I'd have never played guitar again if not for him and that tele.

Ahhh, no more no more, That song drove me nuts. I tried to learn it in the late 70's when this album came out but this one gave me fits so I gave up. I knew nothing about open tuning back then and the bands all wanted danceable toons. WE slipped in a few but it's hard to get booked if you don't play danceable. Was back then. I got into production heavily in the late 80's and and in the late 90's I was clear out of the band thing. I wasn't making a living playing my guitar but I was making a living running lights and mixing on a pro level. National acts at least once a week. I'm in my semi retirement years now and want to put together. I have a shit load of gear and even have my own pa and lighting rig for clubs / small street festivals. So I don't have to rent gear!!! That song is so easy now that I know what tuning it is in. Thanx

This is really great - note the extreme precision of the songs and how different the style is from Rocks. The guitar parts were certainly played by the given band members in demos, but the actual tracks you hear on the album were done by studio musicians (except for most of the lead guitar bits that were played by Perry and Whitford). Recording Rocks, the band had the power of success and did most of the album themselves.

Hey Kelly, Great job. One thing I'd like to add, and it actually took me years to finally realize this, is that on the outro of Walk this Way where the riff repeats over and over as Joe is soloing actually changes. The first time it happens the notes played in the riff are E, G, G#, E. And then plays the standard riff of A, B flat, B and E. And then it alternates throughout the end this way. I would always play along with the song but something always struck me as not quite right at the end. It took me forever but I finally figured it out. It's just that that riff is so ingrained that you don't expect it to change like that. Give it a listen and see what you think.
