In season 2 of beastwars when you first see the rubber ducky, it actualy does appear that the ducky was mutated by the quantum surge and is partially transmetalized.

The original will now break as soon as you look at it due to GPS. Nice of them to try and recreate that.

Mine's fine. The GPS claims of TM Megatron are dubious. Seems like just low quality plastic used, not GPS.

@Chris Gold Plastic Syndrome. The gold plastic they used in the 90s has become very brittle and can break with very little effort.

@@Keldroc Some people may be luckier than others. Maybe it depends how the plastic has been looked after over the years. I've seen a few people break it while transforming it (carefully too). I've had my own issues with the gold plastic from around that time, though not with megs as i don't have it. Its definitely an issue in general. I hear the Japanese version of transmetal megs is not affected so maybe you are right in this case about the plastic quality. Whether GPS or not it does seem to become brittle with age.

A remake of one of my more nostalgic childhood figures, done in my prefered scale, that looks beautiful? What a shame it turned out the way it did! Thing looks clean next to tiger tracks though

I can't help but wonder if it was assembled too soon after painting and some of the joints are stuck due to paint drying together. I can't judge that over video, but it seems right to me. Honestly I had been thinking this was just a downsized KO of the old BW toy (to be fair there is only so much they can change and still have it be show accurate since the toy was so close), but there was more changes in the transformation than I expected.

The pinkish bronze parts match the Takara release's color. The Hasbro release was the bronze you are thinking of. I'm not defending it in any way. It's trash. But I'm guessing the choice between the Takara colors and the Hasbro colors being released in the Asian market, the Takara colors won. Skateboard Gorilla on the other hand, is great!

Yeah, he was never Gold, it was very metallic bronze in the show, so aside from the lack of metallic, the color isn't that far off. The purple is right on too. Color inaccuracy is the least of its problems

The sword is a hangover from the Grimlock prepaint. I agree with you. As someone who owns it, I wish I disagreed but this is one of those you buy in case you need it for completeness. My favourite incarnation of one of my favourite characters and they designed it only OK and implemented it poorly.

TransArt made a brill update to Transmetal Optimus primal and they're doing Transmetal Cheetor so fingers crossed they get onto Megatron here.

ToyWorld’s been making Legends Beast Wars figures for a bit now. The previously made a RatTrap and Blackarachnia, and they have a Scorponok in development, too.

Okay. (Annoyed) 1st of all: we already have wfc kingdom on our hands. 2nd: transform element is has already made their own legends blackairachnia and rattrap figures. And thirdly: toyworlds first figure for this new line wasn’t even that good. and yet their continuing it? Don’t get me wrong, I like toyworld, and I like some of their other products, and I’m still waiting out on their future releases, but they really ok’d beast general to the point of making more? eh, I guess that could be neat. I just hope that they learned that metal ball joints connecting to plastic shoulders and hips is a stupid design choice!

Yeah, I goofed! Those other BW legends were Transform Element releases. So, yeah, this is just an odd release. And, while Kingdom isn’t out yet, I am very tantalized by the leak of Fossilizer. That could be wild.

Oh.. I knew this was coming. This thing looked nasty when I first saw a pic of it. I have no idea what TW was thinking. When I see this... and I see not much more coming down the line with official and 3rd party, it is a huge sign that you were right a year ago. Things are drying up and the peak of 3rd party and maybe G-1 MP has passed.

gregformercy did you spend a second to look up the color he was in the show? The Takara version of Transmetal Megatron was also reddish copper compared to the inaccurate golden of the Hasbro.

I love this version of the character and was super excited at first when I saw it because I was assuming it would be mp to go along with nearly everything else that’s beast wars but then I found out it’s legends and that was a bit of a bummer but I expected it to be better especially from toyworld this is a horrible figure objectively and for a character as beloved as he is this is unacceptable
