That is the best demonstration I have seen to date, I thought the receiver was Ethernet connection only, but you used your phone that showed it was Wi-Fi out, thank you so much I will now purchase one.

Brilliant! I was trying to extend the WiFi to a building on a different mains supply, so it wasn’t working (no shared power lines). I never thought of simply using a mains extender cable until I saw this. So simple. Thanks!

Hi does the tp-link password same as the password on the router? Cos when I type the routers WiFi password it says error. Thanks
@sbcodeАй бұрын
log onto the extender using the extenders password, then you choose from a list of WIFI signals that it can detect, you choose one, and if you enter the passwor correctly, it is now extended an extra 10 meters or so.

My router is in my basement and my gaming set up is upstairs. Even with 150 mbps speed i only get around 30 mbps with my wifi. If i put this upstairs and connect it to my computer will this work?

provided that the floors in your house are on the same consumer unit then it should work fine. no guarantee though, id have to be there to check, you will just have to try it.

Hi! Does it seem like a fast connection in the shed?

Its as good as wifi in the house. Except i have to restart the device every couple if days since it crashes. I blame websites that think they have a right to port scan.

Yes, if the power socket is the same electricity supply as your house.

Will it still work properly if you plug it in a strip like that?

Yes, proof is in the video. There is that strip plugged into the mains, and 20 meters of extension going out a socket at the back of the house. Its all in the video.

It's best to plug it directly into the wall socket. A power strip is a bad idea, yes it might work but it's no good.

Does this work across different consumer units?

I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean, can you have multiple TL-WPA4220 plugged in throughout your house, all configure to point to the one TL-PA4010, then yes.

Can I plug this into my pc that doesn't have any wifi set up? If I do this and plug it into my pc, will I be able to access my router wifi?
@sbcode3 жыл бұрын
yes. there is an ethernet port on the larger device (TL-WPA4220) that you can plug a cable form your pc into. no wifi required. I do this on m current pc. The smaller device (TL-PA4010) is connected to my router in other part of house, also using an ethernet cable.

Plug it in and configure it closer to the router you want to extend, then after you’ve verified it works, plug it in further away to extend the network. But not to far that itself can't connect to the router anymore.

Will the password be the same as your routes password
@sbcode3 жыл бұрын
The password is written on a sticker on the larger device that i just plugged in. Once it is connected you also have the option to change it so it broadcasts your existing wifi SSID instead. And then you use your current wifi network password. That is optional and i didn’t do that step in this video. My phone auto connects and remembers configs for the nearest wifi emitter anyway.
