Thanks for the video, considering buying these or the CPE210.First question, What UTP cable do I need to extend distance between the poe output of the power adapter and the poe lan0 on the accespoint(Extend to 20 meter)?Second question, What I am missing is the setup between the access point and the modem/router of the internet provider, because I think the access point needz to be in the same IPrange as the IPadress of the router, otherwise the client won't get access to the internet or am I wrong?Thanks for answering. One more question is the software of the CPE510 the same as the type CPE210?

Hi, I have a TP-Link to exclusively communicate with a clients driveway automatic gate. Every 6 weeks I have to go back and open up the gate controller to re-enter the TP-link password, like it has an auto-log off security feature. Real hassle. Is there a configuration to stay logged on/in indefinitely? Thanks
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH Жыл бұрын
That would be something you would need to troubleshoot with the gate controller manufacturer. A CPE like any AP should keep a device connected, as long as its communicating and in range.
@chuckb337
@chuckb337 Жыл бұрын
@@TPLINKTECH But as I kinda remember, the Tech who installed the TP asked me when configuring it if I wanted this (log off) feature for security, in case someone outside got inside. Are you certain it is not an option.. I admit it was a while back-cant be sure.
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH Жыл бұрын
@@chuckb337 No because the channel managers here aren't trained on SMB products. As far as we know in AP mode, the unit shouldn't have any auto-off, There might be a Wifi Schedule option, but that would disable the wireless only during a certain time but that would be based on days. not multiple weeks. there shouldn't be a feature like that. You can reach out to business support support.smb@tp-link.com to be sure though.

Please be aware regarding the (DFS) Dynamic Frequency Selection on 5 GHz. DFS is prioritizing military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar. That means that your link will disconnect between 1-10 minutes if it will find a military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar use in you neighboorhood. The sellers of 5 GHz links, as TP-Link, are talking quietly about this. I had to learn it the hard way.
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 3 жыл бұрын
This is not being quietly spoken about its a nature of the beast. DFS are typically reserved for Radar. To get FCC certification to use the channels are legally required to include such a check and balance to ensure the wireless use is not interfering with said radar.

@@TPLINKTECH You and other companies doesn't inform us customers, when you advertise this products, about DFS. It took me 2 days to understand that it wasn't my setup which were wrong. For any user where stabilty of a WiFi connection is important, any equipment using DFS should not be used.

@@edvinas4072 Yes, you would need an indoor ap or router on the client end to get Wifi in the detached garage. additionally, it would not be the same Wifi as the AP cpe210 is generating the signal and the Client CPE210 is receiving it. @@Duckathan as long as they have line of sight with the main AP they should be able to connect. Though in your situation I would actually recommend the EAP225-Outdoor instead of the CPE210. Using the TP-Link Omada Controller you can wireless Mesh the units to each other They transmit Omni-directional instead of Directional and they operate on both 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz. and using the controller they can all be managed at one time instead of individually. the EAP225-Outdoor has a maximum range of 150 Meters so that would more than suffice for 200 feet between the units.

For CPE systems that is very difficult to do. It's not like an Omnidirectional low-power system that is easily influenced but other systems in the area. These systems are high power and very line of sight. The main interference factor is if something obscures the line of sight of the system.

Excuse my English, I do not know much. I liked your video and some questions came up. The first, can you connect several CPE clients to a single AP? Second, one establishes until which range the signal is established? Third, can it be implemented to access the PCs that the client shares?

The Answer is yes, you can connect multiple clients with an ap. Yes you can access the PC's of client side from ap side if DHCP server on both pharos devices is turned off and dynamic IP's are being allocated by one device. Please let me inform if you want to know further.

I'm no expert but basically yes. You can select Range Extender, Access Point, or Bridge based on your needs and connect devices compatible with 5ghz wifi (like most phones and computers.) Keep in mind that this is a very directional signal, it's not going to be well suited for "moving targets." You can connect a cellphone to the wireless signal, but you would be better off with something omni directional.

Hey, i've got a question, maybe someone can help? Is a second CPE necessary for an short distance of 40 Meters? I've bought two CPE210, to build a PTP Connection from my main house to my garden house. But isn't it the second one, at my garden house, redunant if the main CPE acts as an Access Point? Could I leave off the "garden house" CPE and the router, i planed to install there? What are the pro and cons, to build a PTP versus only one Access Point? for only 40 meters i would not recommend the CPE210. I would suggest an EAP225-outdoor. the benefit is that it is omni-directional, has a greater beamwidth so clients can actually connect to it and has a range of up to 150 meters for just one device. It would be the best choice by far in this situation.
