In this video we will use the ONVIF protocol to view the streaming of the TP-Link Tapo C200 camera, first with the free ONVIF Device Manager program and then with the Ispy program.
We will also connect the Tapo C200 camera to the Hikvision DS 7200 series DVR to save event and continuous camera recordings. We will see how the Hik-Connect app manages to also receive camera alarm notifications.
Unfortunately the Pan and Tilt functions of the camera do not work with the ONVIF protocol, it is necessary to use its application.

Hi, appreciate your video. Would just like to clarify: 1. The hikvision dvr and hik-connect mobile app are unable to show live feeds but are able to record. It was mentioned in the video but i just want to verify if i understood correctly. 2. Should i want to access the live feeds outside of the tapo mobile app, i should follow the onvif procedures which are laptop-based, yes? Thanks in advance for your help.

Tapo live is not seen from the web interface of the Hikvision DVR, it can be seen, instead, on the phone app or directly on the DVR. if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

1) the NVR is suitable for IP cameras, with the DVR, you can usually insert 1 or 2 IP cameras in addition to the analog ones. 1,2) Yes, but I'll check and let you know 3) the NVR connects it via ethernet cable to the router. the NVR has ethernet ports on which to connect the cameras, but it should also reach the IP cameras via the LAN to which it is connected. I don't have an NVR to be able to verify. I believe that the ethernet ports of the cameras and the DVR are part of the same switch inside the DVR.

I confirm that you can record continuously both on the Tapo SD and on the DVR at the same time. With the latest Firmware update, PTZ on Hikvision DVR also works.

I tried the hikvision dvr and it is fine. Lately they have updated the firmware of the tapo and now also the pan and tilt works with ONVIF. It should work with all DVRs that support ONVIF protocol.

I recommend you to use ONVIF Device Manager first, it is easier to use. This program creates the URI string automatically. Also check if you see the camera. Then take the same string and enter it into the iSpy program

Muy bueno el video, esta camara se puede agregarla a un DVR? Por lo que vi la camara tiene protocolo ONVIF y desde la aplicacion se puede ver la direccion IP que le asigna el router, pero no pude lograr agregarla a un DVR hikvision. Segui lo pasos uno a uno, y al final en el dvr me dice ip camera exception, y en el software onvif device maganer me dice "no signal", es decir no me da imagen. Gracias.

@@P4Tech Hola buenas noches, si probe con el software ispy en la seccion onvif. Detecta la direccion ip de la camara con su respectivo puerto, pero no me da imagen. Con el software device manager me pasa lo mismo, osea a la camara la detecta pero a la hora de ver la imagen no se ve nada. Estoy pensando que tal vez yo tenga un problema con mi red interna. Voy a probar la camara en otro lugar con otra red y comento. Saludos y gracias.

@@P4Tech Hola buenas noches, lleve la camara a otro lugar y tampoco pude lograr agregarla a un DVR hikvision, ni tampoco ver las imagenes con el device onvif manager, volvi a controlar la creacion de usuario y contraseña en la camara. No logro poder agregarla al DVR el mensaje que me figura es: "ip camera exception" como si fuera que este modelo de camara no fuera compatible para agregarla en el DVR. el firmware que tengo es: 1.1.16 Build 211209 Rel.37726n(4555)

Hola, el primer software que uso es Onvif Device Manager, que me da la cadena para usar para la transmisión. Luego compruebo, con la misma cadena, el striming con VLC Media Player.

también comprobó el puerto de protocolo onvif de la cámara. En el video, Tapo usa la 2020, otras cámaras la 80. ¿Desde la interfaz web de la cámara se puede ver la configuración del Onvif?

Ciao se non ho capito male le telecamere WiFi sia interne che esterne devono essere collegate al router (tramite WiFi inpistanso un IP statico) e il router via cavo al nvr giusto?

L'IP può essere impostato manualmente sulla cam o assegnato dal router in modo statico. Se il router non ha la porta ethernet è possibili collegare al dvr un minirouter impostato come cliente che funzioni da interfaccia wifi per il dvr. Come hai detto è corretto.

@@P4Tech Yes, i can connect through the OnVif Device Manager successfully and see a picture. I have also checked the ONVIF setting on the HK DVR software is on. So pretty lost as to what i am doing wrong.

You could check in DVR settings. From the web interface Configuration -> audio and video. Check which video encoding is H264 or H265 set?

@@P4Tech Thanks for getting back to me.. it is set to H.264 and this is greyed out and cannot be changed. Does it matter about frame rate, which is set to 15, and bit rate which is set to 1024.. i think that is standard on checking OnVIF Device Manager

The problem could be on the coding, the other parameters should not be a problem. Currently I have lent the camera to a friend and I cannot verify the parameters, however when I inserted the camera I had left the default parameters.

Salve, la telecamera è configurata per connettersi al cloud tplink non è possibile cambiare il server a cui si connette. Puoi configurare il NAS.

hai notato se cambio l'indirizzo IP della Tapo. Se è così, devi impostare sul router la prenotazione dell'IP per la telecamera. Devi mappare un IP sull'indirizzo MAC della telecamera.

Puoi collegare un mini router tp-link (amzn.to/48B8Jjz) configurato come client alla porta ethernet. Lo colleghi prima al pc per configurarlo come client e poi lo colleghi a qualsiasi dispositivo che ha un'interfaccia ethernet e avrai la connessione WiFi.
