Instead of memory card storage, Can we use TP-Link VIGI NVR1008HN (NVR - Network video recorder) & record all the data in the NVR using ethernet switch/Router connected over Ethernet/LAN cable. Can these TP Link NVR & cameras communicate & record both wired using Ethernet/LAN cable (or) wirelessely over Wi-Fi ?

Yes , these cameras have ONVIF support , I bought VIGI NVR and was able to connect these wireless cameras to router and then from router I gave a connection to nvr through LAN cable and then I configured IP username and password for the cameras in NVR and Boom it was working perfectly , one main thing you need to note down is to configure the dhcp server settings for your camera to set to permanent ip so that it will always connect to same Ip each time when it connects

Using an sd card is useful if someone jamns your wifi wich stops recordings from reaching a cloud service. Sure would be nice to know if there is a way to use a power bank between the gris and the camera this would keep the camera on for some time in case of a power outage. I have done this with other cameras it works like a charm

3 meters long, you could always use an outdoor extension cord if you needed to, this was a bit to short for me and that is what I did

So as the camera will be pretty high, out of reach of intruders it makes it a bit difficult to get to the micro sd card. Would you need to remove the micr sd card and pop into a card reader if ever you need to view footage or need to share footage i.e. evidential footage?

You can view the footage from the mobile phone app and download it from there using the wifi connection. So yep, you don't need to access the card to get the footage

I have both Tapo C310 and C210,. Works great but the only problem is the two way audio. The speaker of the camera has poor audio.

i have two c320 ws cameras they both do the job , but tried all different settings and cant stop them giving off false alerts from rain especially at night have the motion down to one and the person sensing up to max , does the c310 also trigger when it rains thanks ,i need one more camera but dont want to be keep getting false alerts thanks

Hi - open the camera app and tap on your camera. When it is showing the view from the camera, tap on the wheel icon at the top right of the screemn. This takes you into your camera settings. Scroll down until you see ‘video quality’. Iap on it and it should show 3 quality options. Tap on the quality you want and then tap on the ‘save’ word at the top right of your screen. Just keep come back out of that screen till you are back to the camera view. 👍

@@OfficiallyGuChi camera has been ok. There is a C320 now that has improved sensor, making pictures slightly sharper. For the price it is a decent camera and does the job. Nightime video can look a little soft and lack detail. So if you want pin sharp video you may need to look at more expensive cameras. I get around 10 days recording from a 128 gb memory card. It struggles to read car number plates at night, so may not be of high enough quality for you. You would see people but lose detail in the faces when you zoom in to the recorded video. The camera does the job, but more expensive cameras should give better quality video, which I think you are after. Hope this helps you decide. 👍

the camera records on a continuous loop no need to remove the card it will start afresh when it is full you can also re format the card if you want to clear the recorded data on the sd card setting

Fairly hopeless on the power side - can it be powered over ethernet? What does the power supply look like? Does it come with one? How does the power cable or ethernet cable come out of the camera? If you connect with ethernet how is the camera power connection made? What about setting it up with ethernet? Is that easy? This review leaves me with a lot of important unanswered questions.

What is the alarm? How loud is this? I can't believe nobody is addressing this. If I am buying one, I want to ensure that before I wake up and check my phone, the alarm sets off, I can hear it, and it scares the burglars away.

Alarm options are: A) sound B) flashing light C) sound and flashing light D) neither (app only sends you a notification but the camera won't make any noise). Sound options are siren alarm (quite loud) or tone (pirrr!). Flashing light is not particularly bright. I hope this was helpful. I just bought this cam and so far I can recommend 👍

I am looking for a security camera solution that would remotely (thru the internet) notify me on my mobile phone (loud enough to wake me up, ie. with ring tone or at least a notification similar to sms/text arrival) when there is a motion detected. Yes, it comes with some casing for this. The whole unit is designed to be able to be used outdoors in the weather if needed. (except for where it actually plugs into the power)

BEFORE YOU BUY! unless you're planing to point this camera straight into a wall with nothing that moves don't buy this crap. I have 2, one pointing to the middle of the garden and another pointing to a gate entrance. During night it's a nightmare with mosquitos and butterfly's, it's constantly detecting movement. Even with only the AI Detection Mode. And this so called "artificial Intelligence" during day, constantly detects shadows, my dogs and trees and clothes has person's. And most absurd is that it's most of the time like this. And then a lot of times doesn't even detect people. I only know it because I could see it in the recordings and had to detections at the same time. The Tapo app its another joke, half of the time crashes. It's missing simple features like scheduling timers for every detection mode(only one has). The timeline to check recordings makes it impossible to set your wanted time. It's frustrating to check every detections and recordings.... What's good: The c310 image quality is ok, don't know about the next model. And the night mode and sound are quite good. I know that this cam is not that expensive, but cmon...

I did not have any issues with the time and date on my camera. You can change the time zone in the settings which might fix it? I found this troubleshoot guide online that might help. Good Luck Troubleshooting Suggestions: Set camera on correct Time Zone (Tapo app > tap the "wheel" icon on the Live View page > Camera Settings > Time zone); Turn off NVR or third-party software and Reboot the camera (Some onvif software may affect the time of the camera); Be sure that camera firmware and Tapo APP version are up-to-date; Turn off Modem/Router Firewall settings or lower firewall level for test purposes; Change router’s DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 (router’s DNS server may fail to resolve the NTP server) Sync time on Windows computer in the same local network, if the computer failed to get the correct time, it's more likely the NTP servers are blocked by a firewall.

If you have NVR and you connected the cam to it change the NVR time zone to your time zone and it will be changed to it this happened to me.
