honestly Im wondering the exact same thing. My previous Yeelights did this by grouping sets of lights by room. Which Tapo does too but it doesnt let me adjust the whole room. So annoying.

I think these have Bluetooth as well. I sadly cannot remember and have switched them out with other bulbs.

Yes, you can make a group and control them all at once like that.

Yes, these work off of WiFi, so you can launch your app from anywhere and turn the lights on or off.

After watching your video i thought i would give these a try but my bulbs just never make it past pairing and ive tried everything

It could be the bulbs. The last thing I would suggest, try turning off the mobile data on your phone and then try to set them up. This worked with another set of smart bulbs for me twice. Not sure what the Mobile (Cellular network) does with the setup process but its worked for me before.

can you connect to them when your not at home by using mobile data or will they only work if the phone is connected to your home network?

These are WiFi bulbs, so they will work as long as your Internet at home and the Internet on your phone is working. 😁 You can turn them on and off, etc.

What ever happened to Party Mode? It’s not in the app but I used to be able to get it to flash multiple times colors though Alexa. No more😕

Try to turn off your mobile data on your phone and add it again.

With the switch off they won't work. But if you turn the switch Off then On it will still be the same

Its not rated for outside use, but I have a few smart bulbs outside and currently havent had any issues with them. So its kinda a "Yes" but it could break the bulb in a super cold day or a hot day if the bulb was in direct sunlight.

How does the app work when you are not home?

As long as your phone has an Internet connection and the Internet at your home is up, you can open the app and control the control while away from home.
