Fun/sad fact. This game debuted in the late 70’s and the mountaineer was called “Fritz” by Dennis James host of nighttime TPIR series. Janice Pennington was married to Friedrich Stammberger aka Fritz who disappeared mountain climbing in Afghanistan in 1975. The host wasn’t aware of his name and when the contestant lost because he went over the edge he said “oh no there goes Fritz, and Janice burst in to tears leaving the stage. She would remarry in the mid-1980’s to Carlos de Abreu an American citizen originally from Mozambique. God bless Janice

To put a rule in pace that says you can't bid a dollar higher than the last person makes no sense. You could bid, for example, $800, then I bid $801. Only to find to out that your $800 bid was a perfect bid, and I'm $1 over.

"Yodely Guy" was Drew Carey's reference to the mountain climber character. This channel is just appropriating it to seem relevant to today's TPIR viewers. Actually, I believe the climber fellow was once referred to as "Sven" during the Barker era of the show, but I could be wrong.
