Thanks, fellas. BTW, can we finally leave Justin Frye alone? Stop blaming him for the organizational decision to not overpay high school offensive linemen (Brandon Baker, Jordan Seaton, David Sanders). The Buckeyes just finished a title season in which they started 9 DIFFERENT guys on the o-line. Go BUCKS!➡🏆💍
@ohiost742 күн бұрын
Frye still needs replaced. A little success doesn't make up for his terrible recruiting and always missing top targets. Buckeyes couldn't even get the top transfer portal guys either. There is much better coaches out there. Don't be blinded by 4 games and forget about the failures in the last 3 years and recruiting failures.
@CurtisRichardson-qc3bk2 күн бұрын
Ryan Day has fired good coaches over poor recruiting in the past. The difference here is his personal connection to Frye. Although osu was able to patch things together, some of it was scheme (chip kelly). The oline remains depth deficient due to poor recruiting.

How important is it now, with the length of the season and playing depth to be fresher for a playoff, for recruits and current players to stay because they’ll get playing time and $ and development at Ohio State? With the attitude now on playing depth, $ and learning on the job, OSU should be THE destination, then home.
@taxisquad11Күн бұрын
SILLINESS, you can bring players in through the portal after 2 years as starters, who did not play 16 games last year. Ryan Day created THE plan for a 16-17 season. Slow down the offense so as not to run as many plays as before. Substitute more than the past even if it increases the possibility of losing a game. Knowing you can make the playoffs with 2 losses with a rested team. THE reason Ohio State did what the did in the postseason this past season

Gotta build depth on defense. Downs, Styles, Reese, Mathews, IGB, KJ, Curry, Houston, Mcdonald. They have a chance to be really good. Offense needs Julian Sayin to step up but they might be better with tackle and tight end additions from the portal. This team has a young core of leaders that has experienced championship success. I could see them repeating.
@AkronKid3302 күн бұрын
@OpenMikein7 I agree with everything you said minus repeating. They will need an experienced athletic QB to have a chance to repeat. There will be too many teams next season that will be stacked and experienced.

The ncaa had a chance to get out in front of this stuff but is so worried about litigation that they sat on their hands. Profit sharing will level things out and reel it in a little to where players will start choosing schools for coaching, development and tradition again. Kinda of the wild west while we get there. Glad OSU has navigated this how they have and they have let a lot of guys walk bc they aren't willing to pay and believe in what they have to offer. Stinks that people are trying to purge our roster, but to see these guys staying says a lot about how they value the program.
