At least Race Game revived the William Tell Overture originally in Hurdles.

I think Tom Kennedy's and Bob Barker's version of TPIR are the best

Tom Kennedy had to be most accurate as Barker daytime. Both icons worked Ralph Edwards at one time at their careers.

It seems to me that a majority of the Price is Right episodes from the mid to late 1980s and episodes prior to about late 1992 used The Big Banana in a half-step lower pitch most of the time.

I heard that Bob Barker had his hands full and he was unable to do it at the time, so I think that's why Tom did the Nighttime PIR at the time.

Like WOW, what a good Plinko Game 4 Chips, but hit all 4 Money Spaces $100 $500 $1000 & $5000 and THE Best Part was not hittin' those silly Zeros, that was AWESOME!

Too bad the Tom Kennedy TPIR didn't last longer than a year, Tom seemed to be enjoying himself.
@mobi05015 жыл бұрын
I know right it should have lasted until 1989 or 1990 at the latest. But it was fun while it lasted.

the only odd thing is it was only a half hour show I've watched a few of these classic episodes and I havent seen the 2 wheel spins i wonder why that is

The Nighttime PIR DID use the DS rule? I thought the syndicated show didn't use the DS rule
@NickCMedia12 жыл бұрын
There's no proof whether or not it was used. In all those TPIR episodes with Tom Kennedy we've seen so far, no contestant was less than $100 shy of the actual retail price of their Showcase without going over.

are you going to upload another price is right tom kennedy episode with gene wood announcing and the pricing games we're played in that episode we're cliff hangers squeeze play and race game

Since Hurdles was discontinued in 1985, they had to use the William tell Overtune music somewhere. So it ended up on the Race Game.

The hosts of The Nighttime Price is Right is Dennis James (1972-1977). Bob Barker (1977-1980). Tom Kennedy (1985-1986).

Not to knock Tom, I wonder why Bob wasn't asked to do the Nighttime TPIR in 1985-1986l
@pem19744 жыл бұрын
His contract with CBS probably wouldn't let him.
@mitchellries2562 жыл бұрын
@@pem1974 I am not saying that's right or wrong. I just don't see how that's possible with how Dick Clark hosted The $25,000 Pyramid on CBS and The $100,000 Pyramid at night or Richard Dawson hosting the ABC and syndicated versions of Family Feud or even Jim Perry hosting the NBC and syndicated versions of Sale of the Century. I know they're two very different networks but I assume the contracts have the same rules.
@pem19742 жыл бұрын
@@mitchellries256 obviously Dawson, Clark, and Perry had different contracts And Bob had a better one (depending on how much you enjoy hosting a game show) He was probably making twice as much for doing half the work.
@danbarker384612 жыл бұрын
@Godzillaman, even if she bid $500 more, she would've only won her showcase, they didn't use the DS rule like the daytime show did for some unknown reason.
