Thanks for actually pushing the buttons, the other install videos don’t actually demonstrate what type of button is the physical on/off. Spoiler, it’s a physical movement to click on, but goes back to the same starting position when on or off.

Apologies for the delayed reply! Going to be honest here, I’m not 100% sure if this will work or not. Definitely consult with an electrician if you haven’t done this type of wiring 👍🏼

Thanks for the video!!! How do I set the timer
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 3 ай бұрын
Hi there. In the app, select ‘Timer’ along the bottom. You’ll see an area where you can set the ‘After’ time. Select a time, for example 30 minutes. Next, you’ll see an option where you can select the action. By default, it’s set to ‘On’. This means, after 30 minutes, the light will turn on. You can also select ‘Off’ to turn the light off after a certain period of time. It’s useful if you’re leaving the house and want to turn the lights off after a certain period of time. Hope that makes sense and answers the question. Please do let me know if you have any more questions!

@@wingryda hey, yes that first switch is a clip from another video. I had realized I didn’t get a video shot of using a tester to make sure there isn’t power still going to the switch, so used a separate video clip. Apologies for any confusion.

@@karl2051 thank you for your kind words. You will need the Kasa App to configure the switch (like connecting to wifi and all). You can then integrate it with Google home and control it through there. Hope that helps!

What if I don't have a green ground wire in my box? I have 1 yellow, two red and three white wires.
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 24 күн бұрын
It sounds like that might be in an older home where grounding was not used. It may also sound like the light switch box is metal. If that’s the case, you can use a bare copper wire and attach it to the metal box and then attach to the ground terminal on the light switch.

Hey can we connect multiple lights to this like I have 9 ceiling lights can I turn all on and off at same time and dimming too? Am from india the other doubt is in India we have 220v supply and this support 120v will be able to use it in India without problem? Because I need to import these switches from US😊
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 3 ай бұрын
Hi Aamir bhai….I’m from India too 🙋🏻‍♂️ This light switch will control only the devices that are wired to it. So if your 9 ceiling lights are controlled using a single switch, then using this switch will be able to control all of those lights. Unfortunately, it will not work in India. The 220v in India will fry this switch 😅. If you e-mail TPlink, they might have some switches that will work with 220v. I think their HS200 switch works with 220v.

Will regular faceplates fit it? Or does it have to be a kasa face plate
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 3 ай бұрын
You’ll have to use the Kasa face plate. A flat switch (aka rocker paddle switch) faceplate may work.

How low can you dim the light before turning it off
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 7 ай бұрын
It goes down to the dimmest point capable on the bulbs. It’s a very faint light emitted from the bulbs I use. I’d compare it to that of a night light. Hope that helps!

Hi Zay Vick. If the ceiling fan is controlled by the switch wiring, than yes it can be controlled with this switch. Keep in mind, this switch cannot adjust fan specific controls like fan speed.

Do you know if the KASA app have a preset scenes option? like low light for dinner
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff 7 ай бұрын
Hey good question. The Kasa app has 4 customizable presets for this specific switch. You can adjust the percentage of light output for each preset (max of 100% brightness and min of 1% brightness). So if you wanted 30% for dinner mode, you can adjust any one of the presets for that brightness. Then you can have it set to turn on at a certain time with that preset or just initiate the preset through the app. Hope that helps!

Were you able to take the plate off after installation? I didn't really tightened the switch that well, but now I'm having a hard time removing the plate so I can tighten it so that the plate doesn't have a gap with the wall
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, yes I was able to remove the plate after install (to readjust). If the screw is just spinning, try using a flat head screw driver to wedge the wall plate as you unscrew…it might need that pressure to catch the threads.

can this switch/app turn the lights on at 100% at dusk, then 50% at 10PM till dawn and turn off??
@adventuresandstuff
@adventuresandstuff Жыл бұрын
Great question 👍🏼 yes, you can set up multiple schedules for a single device. So, one schedule to turn on at 100% at dusk; a second schedule for 50% at 10pm till dawn; and a third schedule to turn off the lights completely. Hope that helps!
