Please be aware regarding the (DFS) Dynamic Frequency Selection on 5 GHz. DFS is prioritizing military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar. That means that your link will disconnect between 1-10 minutes if it will find a military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar use in you neighboorhood. The sellers of 5 GHz links, as TP-Link, are talking quietly about this. I had to learn it the hard way.

This is not being quietly spoken about its a nature of the beast. DFS are typically reserved for Radar. To get FCC certification to use the channels are legally required to include such a check and balance to ensure the wireless use is not interfering with said radar.

Can i use the cpe510 in AP Client Router (WISP Client) mode and connect it to an archer a10 in (Router Mode)? I then want to connect an (AP) or wireless router to the cpe510 so I have an omnidirectional antenna for all my devices at the second location.
@TPLINKTECH3 жыл бұрын
The two devices would need to be in line of sight and the beamwidth for that to work. The CPE510 has a very narrow beamwidth. However the EAP225-Outdoor may be a better product for your needs. Its an outdoor Omni-directional AP with a maximum range of 150 Meters.

what is the allowed distance between the TPlink CPE and the PoE adapter? is there also a limit on the distance between router port and the PoE adapter? or are this the normal 100 meter limits of ethernet?
@TPLINKTECH4 жыл бұрын
As far as we know the limits are that of the Ethernet segment.
@a320homecockpit4 жыл бұрын
@@TPLINKTECH thanks but a follow up question arrise then, is the ethernet segment from the router, over the PoE adapter to the device or are these 2 segments (1 segment from router to PoE adapter and 2nd segment from PoE to device. The reason for this question is that I would need to travers first an area without line of sight and then the radio part which has line of sight. The first past is most probable just over 100 meters
@TPLINKTECH4 жыл бұрын
@@a320homecockpit You shouldn't have a problem with that as long as the injector is at a location where power can be added. the 2nd segment, ethernet to camera would then have the POE power added to it.

I just bought the device dec and there is no Poe ethernet cable to connect between the Poe adapter and the device from the inside of the box. Do I have a color sequence of this cable, if I do it myself, I have knowledge of the cable ethernet.
@TPLINKTECH2 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as POE Ethernet cable. Its just a regular Ethernet cable that power is transmitted down as well. The Ethernet Port does have to be POE capable though. With this device if there is no Ethernet cable any one you have available will work. I recommend Cat5e and up though for gigabit connection capablities

I have installed two CPE510 units they connect fine and i have good signal strength. If i send data over the link it works fine but if there is a period of inactivity the link seems to stop working and i have to reboot one of the CPE's. After doing this the link works again until the next period of inactivity. Every morning I need to reboot. Do the units have some sort of sleep mode. Please help.

Honestly not sure on that one. You can email our business support at support.smb@tp-link.com and they will be able to tell you.
@gagarinone3 жыл бұрын
That's happening when the (DFS) Dynamic Frequency Selection, on 5 GHz, is active. I had to learn it the hard way.

is this necessary if it's only an access point setup?

these CPEs are long range directional APs. Technically only one in AP mode would be needed but because the azimuth of the signal is very small it is recommended to have 2 that are able to see each other, one in AP and connected to the source of internet and the Other in Client at the receiving end.

Have difficulties connecting the client to the AP: 1. Do I have to disconnect the LAN cable between PC and AP, to client PC at any time in the configuration process? 2. The SSID network-name. Is that a specific new name for the AP-Client connection, or to the network of the house? 3. At what time may I LAN-connect the AP to the router of the house instead of the PC? How do I do that? 4. What option do I have, if my PC does not have a traditional LAN-socket in the configuration process?

So access point and the client both can be the same CPE
@TPLINKTECH5 жыл бұрын
Actually its recommended that they should be. At the very least they have to operate on the same band. Many of our CPEs are only a single band device either being 2.4 or 5 GHz

You can buy tenda 03 5 km wireless router . This will cover the range of 5 km. For this you will have to buy two units of tenda router . Configure one unit as Access point mode . And another unit as client mode . Each unit will cost you 3300 rupees .

In Client mode think of the CPE as a modem. You would need to connect it to a Router or AP in the Client location to provide that area with the service it receives.

@@edvinas4072 Yes, you would need an indoor ap or router on the client end to get Wifi in the detached garage. additionally, it would not be the same Wifi as the AP cpe210 is generating the signal and the Client CPE210 is receiving it. If you want the same signal in your garage as in your home look at Deco and pair it with a Deco X50-Outdoor. That should accomplish your needs.

I want to have one in my main building that is used only to communicate with the second, and the second in my outbuilding and running a wireless access point. Can you point me toward documentation that can explain that? The mode descriptions don't seem to be looking at things from the angle I am.

Unit at the main set in AP mode. Remote unit set in Client mode. units must have clear line of sight and be within each other's beam width. If the distance is 150 meters or less consider using a EAP225-Outdoor. you would only need one then.
