I’m glad Autel sent you one of their diagnostics scanners. You, Eric and Scanner Danner seem to understand quite a few of the functions it has. It’s always interesting to see how the CAN network operates through all the modules and also how to trouble shoot any problem on the network and the network modules. Am looking forward to seeing more of the newer models capabilities. Thanks as always Ivan for taking the time to share your experiences.

He didn't show me anything I didn't already know about it. I was hoping to learn a few new things. You can actually get that number directly off of your old sensor even if the battery is dead. Another way you can do it is pull it from the ECU on your vehicle by hooking the OBD2 in. This guy here didn't seem to know a lot about this. Why in the heck would they give this to somebody like him. I highly doubt he caused anyone to buy it. 😊😊😅😮😅😂😂

While you may not need the info, it might help someone. Intermittents are not fun, as we all know, so this MAY help. The problem in my 06 Nissan's TPMS was this. Monday through Friday it sat. Saturday and Sunday I drove it. Saturday Mornings it was cooler, so the TPMS light came on. Of course once driven, light is off! Sunday afternoon, using my air compressor, I set all 5 tires (the spare too) to 40PSI, checked all 4 sensors with tester. Gauge read 40, tool read 38. Next Saturday morning start the engine, TPMS light on. Gauge checked all tires, they read equally just under 40 PSI gauge cold (literally)! Rear tires and right front read 36, left front 30. OOPS! New left front sensor, problem solved! When the left rear did the same intermittent problem, all three were changed, PROBLEM SOLVED! Hope This Helps!

Definitely a new learning curve for this tool, but has great possibilities for high volume TPMS service/repair work! I replaced the 4 sensors on my 06 Frontier 2 1/2 years ago. Started with an intermittent (what else) temperature sensitive left front problem. When the second one had the same problem, the 10 year life cycle was showing itself.

@robertm7086 жыл бұрын
I have TS608 and it appears identical to both MK808TS and MX808TS from Autel's descriptions and specs. Not bi-directional except the TPMS and a few service functions on the service tab (for limited models). The 906TS is the full bi-directional variant as far as I can tell. Pricing also seems to indicate that. The TS608 works well enough. I think every tool ends up with some glitch here or there as they cover so many makes, models, and functions. There are probably cases where an elite, expensive tool can't read something that a properly programmed ELM app can do :) I will say that Autel and Launch (and probably others) would do everyone a favor by simplifying their confusing product arrays.

I've got the Maxisys MS906TS - I've had it 2 years and haven't used the TPMS function yet, LOL. Only tried it out on my Silverado, back when I first got the tool. My tires have been rotated so many times, I have no idea what is what anymore - I should go out there and relearn them today. Thought I would get alot of use out of the TPMS function since I do alot of tires, but since having the light on doesn't fail inspection here in MA, nobody cares about it - they just put a picture of something or someone over the light, HAHAHA! I couldn't sell a sensor if I tried. I could've used it back in '07, when my brand new Silverado got all screwed up when I attempted a relearn through the DIC (driver information center) following the owner's manual. I wasted 2 hours trying to get the damn thing to program! Every time I got to the last sensor, it wouldn't toot the horn - it would just hang forever, then fail to program. Had to go to the dealer under the bumper-to-bumper warranty, and get it reprogramed. No idea what they did, but after that, I was able to reprogram the sensors through the DIC every time without an issue. I think GM sets it up that way to get you in the dealer, hoping it's out of warranty by then ... 😡 Anyway, this tool is 300x faster than messing around in the DIC. Great review Ivan! Glad you did this. Since I haven't used mine in 2 years, I had forgotten what does what. Gonna go play with the Silverado now. 😄👍👍

The valve stem was obviously bad/broken but was the sensor bad? The sensor can usually be swapped to a new stem but the battery life is only about 10 years. When they start to fail it is best to have them all changed with the next tire purchase.

You can send it to me and I can do a video for my wife's 06 impala. Needed one sensor and was going to get it and told wife and she said none of them were working now. I thing I'll scan the vehicle as a service tire pressure monitor system comes up in Driver Information Display (DID). No tire indicator light as you generally get is displayed eithe. On the 06 impalas they have sensors that show pressure for each tire unlike my 2004 Tahoe which just shows a tire pressure monitor light and no pressure readings unless you hook proper scan tool up or tpms machine I'd imagine. With that being said I was talking with the guys at Walmart about sensors while getting a flat repair and the sensors where they show pressure in the dash are different that ones that just trip indicator lights such as my Tahoe. I will say that I do recall that when I had 1 tire that would be low on the impala it use to show the tpms icon so there's a direction that may indicate it's more than a sensor $$$$$ I'm sure it'll cost. I'll be doing head, intake, front crankshaft gaskets and seals and rear main seals next summer hopefully when I get my new addition built to my garage. Still thinking maybe a pole barn in the way to go though as I could get more space in the back yard than just a 3rd stall garage that's only 16-18 ft wide. Decisions decisions I must say. Send me a private message as I need to ask you something that I don't want to say on here or do you have a email that subscribers can write to?

@@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics so did a little talking with Autel via Facebook yesterday and gave them this model number that you reviewed. Told them I was thinking about getting it and asked if it would be supported. They said it is not a USA region device so it would not be supported but they gave me an alternate model number which would be the ts608 and pointed me to the AES wave.com website and said they are one of the web retailers that sell USA region scan tools. I guess there is a gray area when it comes to support down the road that if you don't have one for the USA region it'll be tough to get support for so they told me and I can provide copies of the conversation if needed because it has me a little flustered scratching my head right now. So anyway I spoke with AES web and they gave me a couple options for what I was looking at well then I got looking around and it appears that JB tools has certain ones and they actually say USA supported but then when I sent autel a message asking them if JB tools was a USA region distributor they said well you should call them and ask them as if something is going on here it seems. I hope they're not drying to drive traffic to one website because yes when I checked on the AES wave.com site there autel scan tools are more expensive than the ones on J B tools which doesn't make sense. Unfortunately when I went in to cancel my order it showed that it hasn't shipped yet so I clicked cancel and within five minutes I get a message from Amazon saying that it couldn't be canceled so when it arrives today I have to refuse delivery on it and return it. I'm waiting for JB tools to get a certain one back in stock or I may go with the ts608 and then go at the J box separately as I would still be money cheaper plus I have my other scan tool. The whole purpose of going with something like the ts608 would be why buy a Snap-On branded TPMS tool for 800 when I can get the ts608 for $525 and then still have 300 left over to go towards a jbox which is $700 cheaper than Snap-on if you buy the autel brand. let this be a word of warning check around out there for what you are going to buy for those looking and call the seller up and make sure it is a USA region scan tool that way if your screen goes out which I've heard is coming or you need support you can get it a few years down the road which you can't get with the world region ones as well at least or so they say

You can get pre-programmed sensors from any auto parts store and then you just have to relearn the sensor location ..no reason to clone a sensor unless you have winter and summer tires. I do TPMS all the time and I use a Autel👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻... My Autel can clone BUT I rarely use it for that. There are 2 kinds of sensor. One that needs cloned and one that’s already cloned for the vehicle make model and year just needs to be installed in the car put in relearn and use your tool to activate it center.. love my Autel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Autel’ started making and selling tools for TPMS and took the market with there 1/3 of the price of any TPMS tool out there😲😲😲 and works as good or better.. I will stay with Autel for TPMS Work.. But like any tool you really need to stay up to date with the problems and tools.. Autel has a very good Online web site and easy to use and navigate.. Ivan - I have a 2003 Chrysler T&C Limited AWD with TPMS. I had to have all 4 sensors changed and reprogrammed, they were original to the vehicle thus the batteries can not be changed. When any one of the tires goes low the display on the over head display says "One or more tires is low". Since each of these sensors has their own unique I.D. shouldn't the display indicate which tire is low? If so, do I have a problem in the overhead console display or the BCM? My other thought is Chrysler decided to go cheap by not entering the few lines of code info in the programming required to display which tire is low. Your thoughts?

Road salt is used where I live(many time sodium-rich volcanic gravel )....but the car has zero rust....original owner and I have never allowed salt to stay on any part of the entire vehicle for very long....so even if you live in a "rust belt "region like I do.....a car will only rot away if you allow it to.

I've used it on everything from Toyota, Mini Cooper, Volvo, Chevy basically anything coming in the shop and it has been awesome. The downsides are that the battery is not strong so extended sessions will drain it faster than you would think/want the software is kinda locked down in that I can't add more stuff when I got it I was disappointed at first because I wasn't using it on vehicles but as soon as I started using it everyday I was hooked. It has basically the same functionality as my full-size Autel that was over $2000. Also if you're savvy with Android I believe there is a way to Port the software to another android device that would have better battery and the Google play store for apps. To me this tool is worth the $500 bc it kept me from buying a full sized launch and my Autel screen has gone to crap after 2 years and Autel USA won't help me at all so while it could be better the software on that little tool is what really sells it.
