One time, when I was probably 5 or 6, I had gotten a Belle makeover at Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. Then I met Chip and Dale on Main Street USA. Push came up to me and told me that I need to go see the Beast. For a long time until I started watching these videos, I though I was crazy that a trash can talked to me. Any video that you mention Push in just makes me think of that happy moment

I agree with the idea of Runaway Railway and Great Movie Ride coexisting. There’s no doubting that Runaway Railway is a great addition to the park, and it’s about time Mickey Mouse got his own attraction, but there’s also no doubt that the Great Movie ride was an absolute classic at the park. Great Movie Ride was a staple attraction to all my visits to Walt Disney World. That ride is greatly missed. Also with the acquisition of Lucasfilm, Disney also acquired Industrial Light and Magic, which could’ve been utilized to create better special effects on the ride. The Fox acquisition is a great point though, they now have the rights to many classic films that could’ve been used for the ride now that Disney is no longer licensing the MGM brand for the park, and could replace some of the films they don’t own. Whether Disney made the right move is up for debate, but both of these rides have been great attractions at the park.

One of my favorite Disneyland memories as a kid was hanging out with Push! We were waiting for members of our party using the Space Mountain bathroom and he parked himself next to the regular trash cans so he could jump scare people walking by! My dad was very obviously staring at him and Push said "Hey, you in the Linux shirt! It's kinda conspicuous!"

I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned, but I wish they’d change Journey into Imagination back to It’s original ride. Bring that whole building back to what it used to be, being the second floor back. Also, change Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris back to its Jules Verne theming. The original rides music was beautiful.

I think you are right but...that is also why it went, as all the movies used were not all owned by Disney. So the licensing was up so they would have had to change it quite a bit if it was to stay. With lower attendance of the ride and paying for renewed and more expensive licenses, its sad but makes sense why they shut it down. I loved it too though.

I agree! Live entertainment is so important to the Disney parks, along with attractions. The cast members put so much work into bringing such classic Disney stories to life. Festival of the Lion King, Magic Happens, Main Street Electrical Parade, the Beauty and the Beast Live show, Mickey and the Magical Map, Frozen Live at the Hyperion, and countless more. I know Disney are short on cast members currently, but the Disney parks would not be the same without live entertainment! I want to see the joy in kids' faces when they see a parade on Main Street USA!!!

I agree with the last statement about live entertainment. It is part of the Disney Magic and, actually, I think it eats up much of the crowds too. LE was one of the main reason I went to the Parks. And it is a BIG BLOW when they take it away and have no replacement for it. I do wish they would bring SpectroMagic back but re-imagined! That would be awesome!

I'd like to add a couple more to this list. The revamp of Journey into Imagination was such a big failure, turning a lovable and memorable ride into the obnoxious, no-wait ride it is now. And also the paid Genie fast passes are SUCH a big mistake on Disney's part. It's already difficult enough to go on all the attractions you want, but I feel like this is going to make it worse for us poor folks.

Sadly, this is Disney's way of saying their parks are intended for the rich, or at least highest bidder. This is one of the problems with current society, especially Wall Street. As a public company, you need to be increasing your profits every year, and you have competitors you need to beat. If you don't, you are a failure, and you have many risks. Among them, company being bought out and broken up, all of management being ousted. Prior to the early 1990's business wasn't so cut throat. Too many bankers realized how much money could be wrong out of many companies this way. For those who have forgotten, look up Saul Steinberg, Arvida and the two brothers that tried to corner the silver market along with take over Disney and basically end the company in 1984. (Breakup) Anyway, I digress. Great video, keep up the good work.

I'm just gonna say it: Universal has virtual queue's figured out. You have to physically show up at the ride to get your return time. Having everyone log on to a website at 7 am and metaphorically duke it out was a BAD idea.

I would love that idea. First come first serve. That would ensure that I would be able to get on the ride. That it is more fair, however makes to the ride first by getting to park’s early get to ride. Disney should really take Universal’s virtual queue idea and then I wouldn’t mind them so much since it’s guaranteed that I get to ride that day m.

The virtual queue for rise of resistance has me nervous it is one of the rides I want to ride on our trip to Disney world. This will probably be our only trip to Disney world because normally we wouldn't be able to afford to go but a friend has gifted a trip to myself and my grandson and family for our birthdays both in November.

This is the exact reason I hate the virtual queue system. Some people live close enough to the parks and have enough regular income that they can make frequent trips to Disney; but for most people, that's not the case. Sometimes, your trip to Disney is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To have your dream vacation boil down to a blind-luck lottery system is so unfair and really heartbreaking 90% of the time.

Haven't been to Disney World in 23 years...1998. Last I went John Glenn was going up in the space shuttle and Animal Kingdom With 2 rides had just opened. We actually rode the super lame boat ride that was there and some skewered suits of armor hinting at a Beastly Kingdom coming in the near future. Which never happened.

I feel just about everything I consider a mistake comes from Epcot. First and foremost, I miss the original Journey Into Imagination with Dreamfinder. I also wasn't the hugest fan of the Maelstrom change, but I kinda miss the little 5 minute movie presentation they had after the ride that is now absent. I used to like going into Innoventions and taking a load off while also enjoying drinks from around the world. The original Test Track was also my favorite.(Still remember the slow moving ride that came before TT as well)

Dishonorable mentions: Replacing Fast-Pass with Genie, no longer offering free bus service to WDW, Disneyland Tomorrowland 1998 "renovation", replacing the original Journey into Imagination with the infamous Journey into Your Imagination incarnation, getting rid of Main Street Electrical Parade with the short lived Light Magic parade, and the general mishandling of Galaxy Edge's setting.

My enjoyment of Runaway Railway is entirely dependent on which car I get. The experience is dampened in the last car because you miss 50% of the scenes and Mickey and Minnie all look off because you don’t get to see them at their intended angle. They should have just updated the great movie ride.

The hat for us is the HWS Icon we always think of for this park. We loved it as the main link for this park to Mickey and Walt. Although the park has a Hollywood theme, connecting to one of Walt's Iconic creations is a key point for me.

It was a mistake to remove the Great Movie Ride but it was also a mistake to take on TCM as a sponsor. This resulted in the end sequence being edited to death, much to the detriment of the ride. It would have been better to lengthen the sequence than to remove all the wonderful clips. Even though the Sorcerer’s Hat was just a pin trading area, it did provide an Icon for the Park. It should never have been removed, I say this as someone who, as an adult, attended the Park since the beginning. I was never aware that the Chinese Theater was intended to be the “icon” for the Park and did not feel it was a loss when it was covered.

Yeah virtual queues are hard to get used to, but I do understand where they are coming from. But honestly, the worst change for me is that you can't really be spontaneous anymore. You almost always have to pre plan for rides and meals, especially the more popular places. And you spend a lot of time on your phone. It almost doesn't feel like a vacation anymore.

my issues with IP's is the addition of them to resorts as well when they don't necessarily belong. It's fine in small doses or even when contained to value resorts but I'm not a fan of such major IP placement in resorts (ie. moana at polynesian or incredibles at contemporary). I know I'm an adult in disney but I don't need to look at disney characters 24/7. I don't need to have pirate flags in my room because I'm staying at caribbean beach. I'd much rather be immersed in the resort's theming itself and appreciate that. That's why Old Key West has always been one of my favourites. It doesn't have to dress up at something it isn't to make it immersive.

I kid you not, I went to Disneyland the day the Jungle Cruise reopened. I had the victuals queue open for ten minutes. By the way, you can join it at 7am and 12pm. So less that 30 seconds after the clock hit twelve, the virtual queue for the new Star Wars ride was filled up. Over 200 groups for that ride filled up in less than 30 seconds. . . . I honestly still can't believe that happened. Also, the moblie order. I can't even with it. The food portion sizes are unbelievable small. It's extremely rare if a food place at Disneyland doesn't have moblie order. You literally don't get a choice if you want to use it or not. So pretty much you're forced to pay for food with your card. I'm not going back for a while.

I love the sorcerer’s hat. My first trip was in 2005 and I have pictures of it and the Mickey water tower. Sad the backlot tour closed, that was awesome too. The great movie ride was amazing and I’m devastated they closed it. I had no idea until it was already closed.

Well first off: I know the secret. And second I think the switch from Soarin over CA to Around the World at DCA was a big mistake. The original film fit so well into that park and while it needed some pixie dust, it has still held up upon every remastered return it’s done in the past few years!

I have never been to WDW so I would have loved to go on the great movie ride, it was iconic. The Mickey & Minnie ride looks great and so cute and pretty but I agree with you they could have put it somewhere else to save the great movie ride and added movie scenes to the great movie ride. I think a big mistake is changing the theme of Splash Mountain sorry but that is my favorite ride for it being a water ride and I ❤️ the theme. Zip a dee doo dah is iconic and I ❤️ the fact they used old animatronics and I ❤️ all the animatronics it has. The princess and the frog I don't think will fit the theme right where its located, they could have made it a seperate ride. I am so sad to see the theme change. I am not ready to say goodbye to the song of the south theme. :(

What Disney needs to deal with the big line - ups is to simply have more attractions. When I went in 2008 they had over 10 billion guest. In 2018 when we went back I heard they had 20 billion a year. That's a big increase and they did not offer enough new attractions. Worse is the fact that some of the new stuff replaced old attractions, so no gain in numbers. In other cases they just closed an attraction and left it vacant. the Stiches great escape building still does not have a new attraction. The inability of some new rides to have a high number of riders an hour is also a problem, so we get stuck with the virtual crew bull. I still love Disney but they have work to do.

The biggest mistake was making Hollywood Studios not feel like Hollywood anymore. Getting rid of the the Great Movie Ride, the Backlot Tour, Lights Camera Action, and the streets of America was the stupidest mistake ever. If they are gonna change the whole theme they need to change the name of the park. And I wish they kept the drawing class.

The lack of entertainment bothers me. It really takes away from the idea of escaping reality. Doesn't help you're paying more for less. When will Disney learn?

I've always thought of the great movie ride(now mickey and minnies runaway railway) theatre as the icon of the park-

Probably adding Pandora the World of Avatar to Animal Kingdom. I mean, (prior to the buyout of 20th Century Fox), having a land based on a franchise that you didn't own didn't make as much sense considering the sequels were years and years away. Plus, they had other options at the time. Like actually building Beastly Kingdome or from one of their upcoming movies, like Wakanda from Marvel's Black Panther. The few reasons it made sense to build Pandora was the location as they could run it late at night (away from the animals) and it had the environmental angle going for it. But that new land didn't really satisfy the mythological promise in Animal Kingdom's opening statement (plus not a whole lot of people don't remember the plot of the film just the world of the film.) And we still have the dragon from Beastly Kingdome on nearly all of the signage, trashcans, and ticket booths of the park, not the Banshees from Pandora. But after watching some video walkthoughs and foodie spotlights on the new land, it looks nice to eat there (especially the hamburger bao buns and build your own bowls). I'll visit the new land and try the new food, and go on the new rides. Though, I would rather have had either Beastly Kingdome, some other property more memorable (and recognizable), or just the campground with new food and ride options.

With the closure of The Studio Backlot Tour as well and the inclusion of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (MGM Studios on its opening day) is starting to feel less like a theme park dedicated to educating tourists on the magic of movie making and more like their other parks full of IPs.

I've met Push in the Disney Studios park in Paris about 5 years ago. Funny little trashcan, it started following a guest after they passed Push, who had hidden next to a regular trashcan. The reaction of the guest was priceless, as Push chased them for a while. It was hilarious.

Well...screwing over the cast members when the pandemic started is one. And the new Genie+ app is going to be a nightmare for people who don't have endless money. The biggest mistake of all though is Disney forgetting about the people who made the company what it is, and totally losing their way.

I also loved the Hat at MGM Studios to and another thing that the company has done in my opinion was getting rid of the movie making aspect of MGM Studios cause when I was there in 06 through 2010 I loved that we got to go behind the scenes of movie making and etc etc the only thing at the park that still does it is the Indiana Jones Stunt show. I also loved the Education aspect of Epcot at the time it was awesome my favorite attraction at Epcot is Soarin it was amazing with the score the scents everything I'm also a Entertainment person I love the show's and the character meet and greet's so cutting back on the Entertainment is one of the worse things that the company has done in my opinion.

The problem is they've gotten away from being an immersive theme park and imagineering and moved to just slapping a IP on it. Then on top of that, raise the price and cut entertainment. Even EPCOT will be over run with IP's soon

Well, I was a tour guide at the Great Movie Ride so I am super bummed that closed. I worked there for 6 months and it was tough coming to the realization that I would never get to ride it again after all the hours I spent there.
