Great video! Wasn't aware of those final 444 cars. I'd read about the factory before - amazing that on the same Zwickau site Volkswagen once built the Phaeton, and now builds the ID3/ID4.

I can imagine with the 2 stroke trabant this was an adventure. My grandfather had another car (Polish Syrena) that was a 2 stroke and they used to travel 1000 km one way with it. A whole trunk of spare parts, tools and you were ready to go!

Moim zdaniem ta fabryka Trabanta nie była taka zła. Była całkiem porządnie zautomatyzowana . Polskie Fiaty były produkowane w gorszych warunkach.

Nie ma co porównywać do komunistycznych marek jak FSO. Jeśli trabant miałby przetrwać to musiałby konkurować z Peugeot, VW a przy tych to była manufaktura a nie fabryka... Najbardziej przeważyła wola polityczną. NRD stało się po prostu odbiorca zachodnich produktów. Ogromne ilości aut tam sprzedano po wymianie marki wschodniej na zachodnią. Kurs był bardzo korzystny i pierwsze co ludzie zrobili to kupili używane albo nowe samochody z zachodu. Wielu wtedy dorobilo się fortun.

Bzdura. Gierek budując FSM w Tychach i Bielsku Białej ściągnął tam nowoczesne i zautomatyzowane linie produkcyjne amerykańskiej produkcji. Widać to na filmach z epoki. Trabant był produkowany 7 lat dłużej od naszego malucha; pomimo tego poziom produkcji był o 0,5mln niższy.

Problemem Trabanta było, to że auto w latach 60tych było nowe i dobre, ale produkcja do 90 lat nie miała już sensu. Silnik 2t był mocno przestarzały. Model 1.1 wprowadzono o 6 lat za późno!
