Trabzon Sumela Monastery, After Restoration, Places to Visit in Trabzon,
We visited the Sumela Monastery in Trabzon's Maçka district. When Trabzon is mentioned, Sumela Monastery comes to everyone's mind first. Sumela Monastery is a monastery built on the slopes of the rocks in the Altındere valley of Trabzon's Maçka district. Its construction date is 350-400. It was built in 1960s and was built by carving rocks approximately 300 meters above the valley. The monastery, which was renovated in 2015, was partially opened to visitors in 2021 and completely in 2022. We visited the Sumela Monastery and tried to tell you as much as we could.
