Do you really need to start sending waypoints (tracking) to actually track back? I don't think that was the case. You don't see activities on the device anywhere?

TracBack comes free with the device and you don't need to start tracking to use TracBack. There are several things you can use on the device without a subscription. I only choose to keep my activity detail on high and start tracking so I get greater detail on my course and then my family and friends can see where I am. I have the Expedition Subscription, so tracking doesn't cost any money, other than what I pay for the subscription. Let me know if you have any other questions. Rick

Interesting tool, 10 minutes seems like it might be a bit long for each waypoint though. Thoughts?

It's better than nothing, and I agree with you that I would like to see it every 5 minutes or 2 minutes but I don't see how that can be changed. I just got off the phone with Garmin and the technician said that currently the time between waypoints is 10 minutes and can't be changed. The Garmin staff is currently having internal discussions on this issue so it's possible there will be some changes. Let me know if you have any other questions. Rick
