I always feel she was going to leave but an accident happened just before she left....and she did pass but he now understands how important she was to him. Chance who sang the lead actually directed & produced this video. He has a masterful eye for his craft...he's directed & produced a number of their videos the last few years...Helplessly Hoping being the MASTERPIECE of all Home Free videos...its not just music but ART !

It’s one of my favorite songs. Very sad but it’s about divorce. I regret telling you goodbye he says...Trace Adkins (the original writer of the song) divorced his wife. I’m sure divorce can feel like death in a way. I love Chance’s voice in this. Home Free is amazing. Loved all the lower harmonies. Good reaction!

Although Trace Atkins wrote this about his divorce from his first wife (so she didn't die) I always thought that Home Free's interpretation and delivery of it leans towards her dying. But, having said that, we are all free to interpret it in our own personal ways. Thanks for your reaction!

I think Trace wrote this after a divorce. I thought it was about her dying as well. A loss can make us grieve no matter how it occurred? Chance did a great job! Nice reaction to a sad song!!

It was emotional. I guess it can be interpreted either way, she died or left. To me it was like she died, because it's really hard to shake off the death and the thoughts are always there with you of them.
