My experience as a team parent who's used both, is that Veo has higher quality camera recording, but Trace is superior in every other way. I thought so with their GPS-based tracer highlights for players, but having experienced PlayerFocus without tracers this weekend, I'm sold. I hope they are able to improve the camera optics in the next generation of hardware, though. Far away is still far away. Frankly, what would be ideal is if they kept the three camera array with 1080p, but added a telephoto lens that could capture highlights in closer, better resolution.
