I have a book that described this. It was called "Peeps" a new theory on vampires basically. They are super powered parasite infected flesh eaters who spread the disease from biting. Unlike zombies they are completely alive though. anyway i don't wanna ruin to much of the book but every other chapter has a description of other parasites like this one. The creepiest was toxoplasma Gondii.
