Just as an FYI for everyone in the US. As far as I can tell cvr or all the sellers in China wised up about what they have and now charge upwards of $80 for this crank(over $100 shipped as of 5/20). At that price you can find the unbranded version of the 105 cranks (shimano fc-rs510) cheaper, in the US, so shipping is a week instead of months, and live with the couple gram penalty. Plus I think the 105 looks worlds better than the cvr. I found my rs510 for $45 shipped on eBay.

I use this crank and Sensah 2x11. TBH I am not sure I recommend it. Shifting up the cassette doesnt always work, and I kinda have to "trim" the shift with a second hit of the shifter. Its perfect in the other direction. ALSO there is not an actual full groupset.... just sellers packing things together. My biggest issue is that you can't use larger than 28t even though its sold as a possibility. I have a 34t rear and cant use my full range because the cage isn't long enough on the rear mech.

@PeakTorque4 жыл бұрын
@@rcranes2227 hey. It's not about pure strength of the axle. Its a material issue. Aluminium axles running on hard steel bearing races tends to 'gall' / cold weld. This then causes a stick/slip behaviour and leads to clicking, very common in 30mm Alu axles! You can google more about galling.

There's a new Aliexpress giant killer crankset. Roadrace Carbon cranks. They make both a single chain ring, and dual chain ring model. The dual chainring version weighs only 546 grams and is priced around $170. The single chain ring version weighs 475 grams and is priced around$150. Both prices include the chainring and bottom bracket! These weights are more in line, and comparable to ultra high end carbon cranksets like THM, Easton, and high end raceface cranks, at a fraction of the cost. I bought the single chain ring version, and it is incredible. Trace, I highly recommend this crankset, and hope you do a review on it.

Again great Vid. Superb quality. What about trying the Sensah Empire Groupset. Have not found a good review yet.

Well... There may or may not be a sensah empire groupset in my future, so stay tuned!!

I’m running Sensah empire on my all Chinese bike...MEKK frame. It’s a great group for the money. The brakes that came with it are meh, but the rest is excellent

@drewf693 жыл бұрын

Could you replace the chainrings with other rings that have the same BCD? Or is it all stuck together?

That crankset actually comes with Sensah Empire Groupset if you get the whole package of Sensah Empire. It's cool and it look like SRAM crankset for me

Subscribed man, I'm all for the cheap parts. Because not everyone could spare 1400 for a bike

My sram red crankset is 565 grams with 53 39 chainrings. My quarq sram red comes in at 640 grams with 53 39. Sram red ten speed 680 grams standard rings as well

You should get your bike critiqued by Hambini. Would be a super interesting cross over, see an engineers perspective on the manufacturing and QA

You asked how we think it looks? It is ugly. I've always loved the look of shimano cranks with the smooth contours emanating from the spindle to the 4/5 arms.
@TraceVelo4 жыл бұрын
Yeah fair enough, it's all personal taste at the end of the day. The Shimano stuff definitely does have a sleek design language, where as this crank looks pretty utilitarian
@seakayaker204 жыл бұрын
@@TraceVelo fair enough from me too. Granted those chinese cranks are cheeeeeaaap compared to 9100s!

I love the utililitarian look and the hollow see through axle is absolutely wicked. Would a crank like this suit a 9 speed Shimano rear cluster that is a 54 tooth outside ring Luke ?

Are the chainrings direct mount? If so would a direct mount narrow wide work with these crank arms for a cx bike?
@tertius37514 жыл бұрын
Your Graph wrong, SRAM Red weight is 609g and BB30 557g, both 53/39
