Tracey Emin Studio Visit | Christie's

Christie's presents Tracey Emin's 'Like A Cloud of Blood' (2022): an outstanding, deeply personal painting which is being sold by the artist to benefit her pioneering TKE Studios in Margate.
The painting represents a return to the creative process for Emin, and offers an intimate insight into her recent experiences and reflections on mortality.
An abbreviation of the artist's full name, Tracey Karima Emin, this revolutionary studio complex and residency programme intends to nurture fresh talent, and to create a thriving artistic hub in her home town, Margate, preserving her legacy for generations to come.
TKE Studios will launch in October 2022. The painting will be on view in London from 6 to 13 October, ahead of the 20th / 21st Century: Evening Sale, which takes place on 13 October 2022.

That bit where she said she doesn't want to die being remembered for her own artwork was problably the most unique thing I've heard from a world renowned contemporay artist ever! Sure many artist's work today makes strong political statements, but still within the realm of art, and what Tracy's doing is a very tangible important contribution to the future of free art, not a sexy as "srt activism" but every bit as important, arguably more so, bc she if anyone Knows the arena she's contributing to. Remarkable and impressive.

I met Tracey many years ago at a party during Frieze. She is a very warm spirit, we laughed a lot and danced to The Stone Roses. What a wonderful thing she is doing for Artists and the town of Margate. I hope to visit soon.

Recovered, yes, but her life's so difficult now due to the effects of the surgeries. It takes so much time to maintain her body and inconvenience is very annoying but she's such a fighter!! Having her mind focused on her art helps her body immune system keep her well. 👍❤
