I am definitely going to give the tape off strips. Seems like it would be a lot easier to paint the checker board this way!

I so love your style! I always learn so much from you. I laughed out loud, at your “de tacking” technique! Thank you for this video. I now want to try that color combination, on my own project.

But that's just it.....It is so easy!!! Just break down the steps one by one. The hardest hard is vision and that is the fun part because it changes all the time!

Why don’t you accent your checks with a float stroke like MC does? Example : yellow on white or even white on the black checks?

Your work is gorgeous!! Thank you for the time you take out of your day to create these videos, they are very helpful to the DIYer. I have a question, I am taping an area on a piece, but the measurements of the area, don’t measure out to an even number, (based on the 1in tape size.) In other words, when I’m finished taping the last row on my piece, I don’t end up with an even 1in row, so the check sizes are going to be smaller on the last row. So my question is, when this happens, does it cause a negative visual appearance on the piece? Also, do you recommend I compensate, somehow for that situation?? What would be your recommendation (cut the tape a different size, or does it not matter?) Thank you for any help you can provide with this dilemma, I really appreciate it😊

Thank you for rubbing the tape down. No one does this and the bleed through is horrible. The camera doesn't lie. A damp cloth pressed over the edges also helps.
