Fully in shock how you manged to recreate this so well, I've played out the original so many times and I had to double take in the first minute if you were playing the original or your remake. Only the clap/snare that gives it away i think

that LFO on the level after all the effects in serum to accentuate the movement of the bass is a huge pro tip idk why i never thought of that

Thankyou, it's extremely useful when you heavily distort or compress your sounds as those processes squash and remove that movement, it can work really well using an envelope too to add some more punch to a sound as well!

I love this track so much and randomly stumbled into this demo. So fun just listening to going so deep on a seemingly simple track. Cheers!

i thought i needed to know music theory very well to me make this type of music and then came across this tutorial. ahaha not saying its not an advantage to know the theory of things but the good oi trust ears again hit me. 🤣 its really in the sound design and knowing the harmonic series i guess. Bass music is an art that i need to deeply understand!!!

Knowing the basics of Music theory is a pretty essential skill to have not just for writing chords, bass etc but for matching samples and remixes too and it's easier than you'd think. But that being said learning music theory can sometimes hinder your creativity as you won't be as adventurous and use your ears to write music and many tracks just like this one don't fit in a conventional key so knowing music theory won't necessarily help. Keep practicing and you'll get there!

Not trying to critique, generally curious: why do you use the OTT plugin vs the OTT setting for multiband within ableton. I was under the impression the plug in is modeled after that preset?
@Modul8online
@Modul8online 3 ай бұрын
Yeah they are both pretty much the same, it’s just so people using other DAWs can have the same plugins and follow along, sometimes I just use it as it’s easy to access in the collections I have setup too. The one inside serum though is not as good which has always confused me, lack of controls and the mix isn’t great 😁

@@Modul8online education is always a good reason! And yes the one in serum is not great. Appreciate all the in depth track breakdowns. You've taught me more than the hundreds of other videos out there. Thank you for making these!
