Track day with Hoosier!

Finally Hoosier has a 200 tread wear tire! Which is the minimum in most of the SCCA rules for autocross. Which Hoosier has been a sponsor for, but never [at least I can remember] ever having a tire in the spec. Glad Aaron had fun, he needs an autocross car now!

I think I've suggested you'all should try this sometime in the past. Learning race techniques can really improve your driving experience, even at relaxed speeds. Any person can learn the tech on how to race. What determines the fast drivers is the will to go fast, that's internal. You have it or you don't. I personally love speed, but only up to a limit. Practice late apex every day. Even at slow speeds it builds muscle memory. And, will make you a safer driver on the road. Practice threshold braking. So satisfying. Think about what you are doing. If you build a track car, start with something not too fast. Miata spec class is superb. Nimble cars, fun, cheap, I don't know if you could get one over 100 on a track. Really close racing. I also recommend Stock Cars. Really cheap entry classes. Like watching paint dry but so intense on the track. If you can get the car to mid pack you will be in for it. Some of the most fun I've had was in bomber class stock cars. And I have race at WRC levels

daughter and i did the bmw experience at indianapolis a few years ago; all M cars. still blows my mind they let us drive at the speeds we did. it was all lead follow for the road course but they said as long as you keep up, they'll keep increasing speed...and boy did they. i sucked at the autox portion because i kept trying to drive how i wanted to run the course and the bmw computer had other ideas. when i gave up and just threw it around and let the stability control do it for me, my time improved.

Hoosier tires,couldn’t think of a better name for racing tires. I’ve been a Hoosier all my life, only about 20 - 25 miles from IRP and IMS.

Aaron, I race Mercedes-Benz AMGs as a hobby. You did well in your first event, but 120mph--you were racing backwards! :) Keep building speed & your spacial awareness will increase. The most fun is 200+mph. :)

aaron..don't beat yourself up..Most pple that are behind the wheel have never Driven A Car..they guide them around and think they are driving..IF you haven't looped a car Hard, you have never driven that car..YOU MUST find the Limits of your ride if you want to Drive it..Street is not the place to Learn that Limit..Your Track time in invaluable to your learning how to drive.
