Track Duration Goals (Time on Site Events) in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) :
Step 1: Ensure your Google Tag Manager is installed on all website pages
Step 2: Navigate to Google Tag Manager and create a new Trigger
Step 3: Name the Trigger as the duration of time and select "Timer"as the Trigger type
Step 4: Input the duration of the timer in the Interval field using milliseconds
Step 5: Input "1" in the Limit field
Step 6: Select and input the following condition for the Trigger: "Page URL matches RegEx .*"
Step 7: Save the Trigger
Step 8: Create a new Tag, choose the Tag type as "Google Analytics: GA4 Event" and select "GA4" under Configuration
Step 9: Name the Event
Step 10: Attach the Trigger to the Tag
Step 11: Save, Submit, and Publish the Container
Step 12: Preview to verify the Tag is working
Step 13: Repeat the steps above with any duration
That's it!

It seems like it only fires for a certain page. If I stay on the homepage for 59 seconds and then switch to the next page, it cannot be triggered. How can I make this event trigger in a session and cover the entire website.

hi Soritos, thanks for your content! I searched through your videos to see if I could find help with this but didnt find a video yet, so: is there a way to avoid tracking data from domains other than the one set up on the data sream?? I want to avoid my measurement ID being used in other domains

In Universal Analytics you can do that by applying a hostname filter: neilpatel.com/blog/protect-analytics-from-hacking/ This feature is not available in GA4 yet, but hopefully it'll be in the future!
