The railway line between Duffryn and Cockett was closed last night for two weeks, to enable work on re-doubling the track, and the installation of the new railway bridge to be completed.
Within 24 hours of the line being closed, the track, sleepers and ballast over the old bridge has already been removed, in preparation of it being demolished, to make way for the new bridge.
The track and ballast has already been laid on the new bridge, and this has all been covered by material to allow a convoy of lorries to travel along it to take away the old material, The crossing to the West of the bridge has also been demolished, but I was unable to gain access to film that today.
Things are now moving quickly and scheduled for completion within the next two weeks, so I will try and keep you updated throughout the process.
