This analysis required a lot of discussion. I placed a girl against one of the boys because they both have a very similar issue, their starts. They didn't have blocks so they lost half a second there. Neither athlete is fully extending their long leg when in the blocks or in a three-point stance. Because the start is broken there isn't a strong drive phase.
Brandon stands straight up (6 and 12) when sprinting. The only successful sprinter to be so rigid was Michael Johnson. Brandon also has a broke arm swing. When you combine the start, lack of explosiveness at the start of the race and poor running technique you get an athlete hovering in the high 12s of the 100m.
Victoria has a very slow start but is solid in the drive phase and her top end speed has the potential to be elite as you'll notice in this video, she regains 2 meters on Brandon. Overall, both athletes have issues with their starts and drive phase. Brandon has an issue with his leg and arm mechanics.
