Track Tales - the Tetbury Branch Line remembered

Told through the stories of those who used, and worked on, the Tetbury Branch Line, Track Tales is a collection of memories detailing the history of the railway. Funded by a Heritage Lottery Grant and produced by local videographers, Hyde Media together with Brecon Quaddy, Carol Paton and Julia Hasler. The film can be viewed inside Tetbury Goods Shed - which was recently converted from an empty shell into a vibrant arts centre for south Gloucestershire.

I used to catch the train at Calkerton Holt to cry from Cherington to either Tetbury or Cirencester!! Wonderful days thanks for posting brings back so many memories!

Thank you for this its a fantastic resource. I'm currently in the planning phase for an exhibition model railway layout which will be based around a fictional heritage line. I came across Tetbury goods shed whilst looking for an example to include and love its design

I used to cycle over from Oxford, and pick up the train at Cirencester. I only knew it with the railcars, however, while they were running they would pick up passengers from anywhere along the line, using a beer crate to provide a step up to the train.

Lovely post, I still visit the line regularly, the goods shed is now an arts venue and the signal box is due to be returned to the station site.

Presumably the 1926 resignalling that's mentioned was when the Signal Box at Tetbury became redundant. Certainly it wasn't at the station in the 1960's, in fact there were no signals at all by then.

Interesting to see the picture of the horses arriving at the platform that was provided for use by horse trains. The first time I came a passenger on the train said that they would never close the line because it was used by the Duke of Badminton (I think) and his friends. Sadly this was not the case.
