I haven’t been to Dragway 42 since the mid 60s. It sure looks a lot different and better than back then. I’ll have to check it out one of these days. Great video.

WOW!! Renovations? Holy smoke!! When I was younger, back in the late 60's early 70's, I used to go there almost every weekend! It's unrecognizable from my hay day! You are correct. The starting line was at the RT 42 end. It was 4 lanes for a long time. 14 seconds & slower was the north side & 13.99 & under was the south. I was there when Shirley Muldowny wrecked her Mustang F/C! Garlits' tow rig was an old black Dodge pickup towing the Swamp Rat in a trailer. Man, those were great days!! Awesome memories!! Spent a lot of weekends there in the late 60s, early 70s. We ran a big block 57 Chevy. What great memories!!!!

Lots of history at that track. Very nice they redid the track years ago. Lot of people don’t realize that at one time it was a 4 lane drag strip. Pro on one side , amateur on the other based on ET.
