I'm gonna say something a little touchy here: That light regulator is already being overworked, it's a 12v supply that ends up sagging to 9v under load in its stock state, pulling any more power from it WILL lead to serious issues down the road, like blowing the regulator up. They're designed to push a max of 3amps and the lights take more than that apparently.
@JamiePineappleWyatt2 жыл бұрын
I've seen people swap the light system to power a relay and a higher power regulator so they can run high power lights and accessories like the alarm system I run.

Will the gps work when scooter is off?
@hellraizer442 жыл бұрын
So my question is If the scooter is turned off can you still track it? If the headlights is turned off can you still track it? Would it make more sense to connect it to the brake wires since it is always ON when someone is using the scooter.
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
Excellent point and you're very correct. I realized once I had closed the scooter up that the wires going to the display or the voltage read out would have been better wires to tap into. However, this GPS Tracker has a Built-in rechargeable battery that holds a charge when the scooter is turned off. If the scooter is stolen and then turned off for for more than a few days though, than this particular installation would be useless. Hopefully it doesn't take you that long to realize its gone!
@corywebb55372 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing, if it's not turned on how will voltage get to it for it to work? There's got to be a way to tap in the battery while it's off

Biggest issue with investing in a flash scooter is when you're not riding around affluent you could be targeted in a number of different ways. Which is why I debate between a scooter and a much lower profile ebike conversion. some kind of mounted timelapse camera would be a cool security measure. I might research to see if that's even a thing.

But every time you want to charge the GPS tracker, you have to turn on the scooter light, did you think about this before you connect the cables and the GPS tracker together ?
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
The thing uses such little battery that it's not an issue. As long as you ride for an hour or so every few weeks then it'll stay charged. You can wire it to any wire with power in there, though. Even the battery wires, which have power all the time.
@1d2y2 жыл бұрын
@@GingerOnWheels Thank you for this. So when I get my varla would you recommend since I will be doing delivery on it, to wire this GPS to the battery wires? I will be riding for decently long rides 25 mph around
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
@@1d2y you can wire it to whatever you want. Just make sure to check the wiring specs of your scooter to make sure whatever you wire it to is within the voltage tolerances of the GPS tracker. If the voltage is too high you may also need to wire in a stepdown converter.

Hey can you show or recommend how to do this on a Kaabo Wolf King GT? Idk can you install a gps tacker in the box that holds the controllers?
@GingerOnWheels Жыл бұрын
Yeah you guessed it, I would just open up the box that holds the controllers find the wire that goes to the throttle and splice into that. Or you could splice into the headlight if you wanted to be able to control when the tracker was charging or not.
@Hermes8A8A Жыл бұрын
@@GingerOnWheels how does tapping into the wire for the headlight allow me to do that?
@GingerOnWheels Жыл бұрын
@@Hermes8A8A The wires going to and from the headlight only have power when the headlight button is pushed on the scooter. You could tap into the headlight wire and charge the tracker while your headlights are on. The tracker has an internal battery that doesn't need to be charged more than once a week.
