Great Video I I never realized it was that easy. Thanks Wilmer

It might not be this easy on all locomotives! Just be sure to do your research before trying it.

Just watched your last 3 videos....assuming the GP9 and Ops video was done on your previous layout....the new one’s gonna have some good size....will be following along your build....great timing with Atlas decoder install. I just bought 8-pin ESU decoders for my two GP40’s. Your video made it a lot simpler than I imagined. Thanks. Anthony @ Georgia Sun Belt

The new layout is not operational yet. It should be before Easter. I will have a layout update soon going in the details of the new layout. And I am glad that you where able to find my videos useful! Thanks for the feedback!

Great tutorial 😃, would love to see more. By the way, could you show your track plan for your new layout in future videos 🙂?

I am already working on that! I have a layout update coming soon with the track plan and much more!

Nice video ! I have a few questions tho dose it matter what controller I get to run the DCC with or do I have to get the same brand . And could you add sound to them too with the DCC

How do you install DCC and sound on a DCC ready locomotive?

Is it that easy for dcc ready n scale locos also cause I have two that need them
@Track10Trains4 жыл бұрын
No they are not that easy. I am sorry I will change the title to "HO" scale. I would ask someone at your local hobby shop, or see what loco you have and try and find a manual before buying anything.

Is this similar for sound too? Would you suggest a different process for sound. Thanks, this is probably the best video for DCC I’ve found
@Track10Trains4 жыл бұрын
it would be similar. but you would have to figure out a spot to fit a speaker.
@222sx02sws4 жыл бұрын
Track10Trains thanks, and pardon my ignorance but is DCC and sound two separate things you have to do?
@Track10Trains4 жыл бұрын
No you can buy DCC sound decoders. Although they are much more expensive than regular DCC decoders. Most sound decoders are about $100. While most DCC no sound decoders are about $25 or $30

So that means that you can operate from your phone or tablet? If so, what app do I need?
@Track10Trains4 жыл бұрын
No you need a DCC System to run the locomotive. Although you can use your phone to run your trains if you use JMRI and a DCC system.

Is there a website for those to coders? Will they work with the Bachman DCC controller?
@Track10Trains3 жыл бұрын
You can look up DCC decoders online and get a ton of dealers for them. and yes all of them will work with a Bachman DCC system
@PurpleKronix4 жыл бұрын
Is the big difference between cheaper decoders and the pricier ones just the amount of programming you can do and the sound? Trying to decide what’s best for my little NP Alco
@Track10Trains4 жыл бұрын
The main difference would be the sound and non sound decoders. Cheeper decoders are not always bad. If I want to do no sound in a loco I Use Soundraxx but if I want sound then I use ESU.
@cryptic698 Жыл бұрын
I know this video is 3 years old already, but I was wondering if this dcc converted loco can still run on dc after conversion? Does it depend on the decoder used?

You didn't need to remove the dummy board, you just needed to unplug it 🤷🏻♂️
